I suspect they want another American produced series set in modern day in order to better accommodate crossovers. After all, having a crossover between OG and Sydney would be difficult, logistically speaking, while there are limited avenues for getting a crossover with Origins to work.
Interesting. Assuming the shows premiere the second week of October like they have the past couple of years and go until the week before Christmas before going on midseason hiatus, that only leave room for ten episodes, which means Origins will still have five more episodes to air in Winter 2027. At which case, yeah, that doesn't leave much room for more than ten episodes of Sydney.

BTW, the Origins finale is on May 5, while May 12th will see the OG finale as well as the double episode Sydney finale.
Regarding the plot synopsis for the Sydney finale posted above, it mentions Mackey will have "an unplanned family reunion." I wonder who with? She's already reunited with her son this week, so that leaves her son's dad (most likely) or one of her parents or siblings.

i think ncis sydney season 3 has there greatest foes in ncis sydney history like the cult leader from bluebirds past that crazy bomb maker dude from travis past that crazy lady who does mind control oh and that dude from the collective via michelles past
The building they used for the hotel the Admiral was at in Origins, I think is the same building they use for the police Station exterior shots in The Rookie, Los Angeles Center Studios.
