NCIS franchise

So I watched Origins 2 hour premiere and would like my time back.

  • Did they not have a budget for studio/set lights? lots of very dark scenes that not a lot of details were visible regardless of day/nighttime, indoor or outdoor.
  • Colors were also muted to the point of sucking out the joy from life. Guess they used a filter over the whole filmed scenes to make it look "old".
  • Story and casting wise, as expected very meh. Mike Franks (IMO a bullseye casting) and fired up lady agent Lala something (reminded not just me of Indiana Jones's Marion Ravenwood) were the lone interesting characters.
Gibbs, still sitting at a fire place up in Alaska, "writing/telling the story that he never told, which is about her - aka special agent lady Lala. Is she one of his ex-wifes?

Agreed, Franks and Lala are the standouts of Origins so far. Meanwhile
The OG season finale was a pretty good episode, though I doubt
Knight's going to be leaving the show permanently.
Called it!

Did they film Origins at a higher frame rate? It just feels smoother than other shows. I double checked, smoothing isn’t on my tv and none of the commercials are smooth

It’s not soap opera level of smooth, but def higher than most shows

Maybe the got new cameras and production equipment as part of the new production

I just noticed the same thing in regular NCIS. So either I never noticed it before, or maybe the cable station is doing something

I assume you were watching the shows on Global? Yes, I noticed both NCIS shows were broadcast at a higher frame rate this week. Although, I tuned into a broadcast of Origins on CBS that aired later at night, and it seemed to be at the normal frame rate, though I did just stick around for one scene. The premieres of both shows last week were also at the regular frame rate, suggesting it was just something Global did this week for some reason that made sense to them.

I am extremely impatient for Sydney's new season.

I am seeing conflicting reports on when NCIS: Sydney will premiere. Any confirmed updates?
NCIS: Sydney is confirmed to launch Season 2 in CBS’ Fridays-at-8/7c time slot, after Blue Bloods ends and S.W.A.T. relocated to 10 pm. And since the Reagans won’t hold their final family dinner until mid-December or so, the Aussie procedural won’t return until early 2025 at soonest.

Gotta say, back in the time from - say 2008 to 2012, NCIS was one of my favourite shows. NCIS LA was cool, too, but then things happened, like Ziva leaving, Abby leaving, Tony leaving, - I think, the only character from the mid-season 1 crew is McGee, right?

Yes McGee is the last man standing.

Could never stand dinozzo from day one and doubly so for his father.

I agree, 'cause DiNozzo reminded me of all the A**ho... erm - generally not so nice people, who made school a living hell for me. Well - not "living hell" but... let's just put it this way: It was not a good place to learn. Funnily enough I did however write the TIVA-Aspect into my fanfic.
