NCIS franchise

Oh, I agree, if they had ended the Hawai'i finale with everyone celebrating, that would have been suitable as a series finale. Leaving the cliffhanger scene afterwards in, well, that was salt in the wound.

The OG season finale was a pretty good episode, though I doubt
Knight's going to be leaving the show permanently.

at least Sydney is still around - for now (thanks to Paramount/CBS needing Aussie productions to fulfill certain legal obligations for some of their business interests)

I cannot freaking WAIT for Sydney to return. I think it will become my new favorite TV series (since Blue Bloods is ending :( ).

And I also can't wait to see how Sydney wraps up the thing with
Rankin.

Otherwise known as the world's most obviously telegraphed plot twist.

Just watching the final two episodes of Hawaii and have the writers completely forgotten Chase is a Commander in the Navy? They keep referring to her as simply Doctor and at one point say she's a civilian.

IIRC, she was still wearing her uniform in at least the second last episode, she's in uniform near the start when the Elite team bring the ordinary Hawai'i team to their safe house to investigate the Chemist's death. So it'd be one hell of a weird oversight on the part of the writers.

Then again, the last couple of seasons of New Orleans seemed to forget Loretta was a Jefferson Parish coroner and at one point even referred to her as an NCIS medical examiner, so anything's possible I guess.

TAD.

Was just talking to a veteran over the weekend and due to his skillset with language he was pretty much loaned out to whatever government agency needed him. While he still carried a rank in the US NAVY (his parent organization) he was treated much more like a contractor, depending on the needs of the mission.

It's taken twenty years, but the NCIS theme now has lyrics.

not something I saw ever happening - weird AF - is this some kind of Origins related promo or their theme?

Still angry they cancelled Hawaii, but at least there's Sydney still coming for a second season in 2025, even if only 10 episodes unfortunately.

It's a promotional aid for season 22 of OG NCIS and is used in that season's trailer:

Some who have analyzed the lyrics think there's spoilers for season 22 there. Certainly lines like "no time to react, the night's returning" or "we will unite the team again" are suggestive.

It's a completely Australian production and follows the Australian production model, which goes for shorter seasons, similar to British shows.

must be a new thing as Australia tv shows in the past have generally run the 20-22 eps per season.

the 10 episodes a season is not an Austalian-thing, plenty of North America or UK produced shows went from 17-23 down to 10-13 episodes and it' wasn't just due to the "Hollywood strikes", but also happening since the 20's.
It's just more common now and a way to same more bucks for the studios.

also it's the more the norm with programs on streaming services where they're' not to fill 6 months of prime time programming.
