Wow, I'm surprised about Villanova, especially after Clemson strong defeat over Duke in the ACC tournament.

I'm at 19/32. Woot.

Yeah, the one Philly area team I didn't pick to win is the one that gets the upset. Next year, I'm picking my bracket by flipping a coin.

Very interesting thus far. Day 2 had the Madness is full affect.
It appears I'm in a pack tied for 3rd thus far. Not a bad way to start.
Although I didn't pick it I'm intrigued to see the WKU vs San Diego match up now. My brother graduated from WKU and his is obviously pleased with things.
I'm not upset about Kentucky losing as I had them getting beat in the second round anyway. They just haven't been that good of late. Vandy screwed me as I had them in the Sweet 16. They laid an egg.

More goodness today.

Don't do that!!! As a friend, I'm telling you that it will only lead to heart-break and large doses of fail! Just look at my stats!

The game I am looking forward to the most today is Kansas St vs Wisconsin. You couldn't get two more contrasting stories. Youth vs experience. Speed and scoring vs physicality and defense. Star power vs blue collar. Purple vs red.

I hope Wisconsin wins. I have them going to the final four.

The Badgers could make it that far, because they have that tournament tested experience. But man it will be tough for them considering who they have to face. Georgetown, Kansas, heck .... even Siena looked tough yesterday.

Another game that intrigues me is Butler vs Tennessee. The way both teams looked Thursday makes me think Butler has a real chance to win this one.

Duke and WVU is fun right now. Duke has the threes going but also 5 turnovers. WVU started slowly, but they've settled down. Great defensive plays from both teams right now. I'd be happy with either team's winning today.

Absolutely, Butler has a chance. More than a chance. They're completely able to knock off UT (They did it last year). Tennessee is prone to occasionally have a bad shooting night and if they have that and their opponent is athletic, they can easily be knocked off. My brother and I are both UT grads and we both picked Butler to win that game, so don't doubt that Butler has WAY more than just a chance.

Vegas has the Vols as the favorite by 4 points and that's among the smallest lines for second round games.

Trust me ... I know Butler has more than "a chance" against the Vols. The caution I have here is that they were challenged more than I thought they should be in the second half of the season. I picked Butler to win this game, as my first pick of a really high seed to go down in part because of that game last year and because of Tennessee's mixed performance late in the season.

Wo... WVU has lite the burner something fiercely here against Duke. A 7 pt lead near the midpoint of the second half. Duke's defense isn't nearly as intense. but WVU has serious foul troubles with three starters having 3 or 4 fouls.

Duke is seriously flawed (and everybody knows that), but I still worry that they'll come back. Damn Dukies are like that sometimes.

In the pick'ems, probably 16 of the 24 entrants are within 10 points of the maximum possible points leader, so most people are very much in it right now.

Duke is going to lose and they know it. It seems strange to see such a storied, composured team like the Blue Devils throwing up desperation threes for the last ten minutes.

It's the brave new world of college hoops. You have players more willing to leave after a year or so, Duke doesn't generally want those types of players, and the team isn't quite as strong as it had been in the 90s. Lose, Duke...LOSE! Muwaaahahaha!!

I am no fan of Bob Huggins, so it isn't easy to cheer for West Virginia. But he has done a heckuva great job in getting the Mountaineers not only competitive but playing excellently! He coached brilliantly today, going with those three guards. According to the announcers, this Mazzulla is a backup point guard. I like Duke and wanted them to win here, but it's great to see WVU do well for their sake.

Cool to see Jerry West's son get into the game at the end!

Wisconsin is looking good so far, I have them in the Elite 8 so hopefully they can contain Beasely. Xavier falling behind early... another Elite 8 team in trouble.

Today can go either way... but if it's like the first round, it's going to hurt.

Always good when Duke loses even though I think I had them going to the elite 8. Why they were a 2 seed I will have no idea but they are the highest seed to go down right now. Looking forward to the Stanford/Marquette game.

Duke lost because they couldn't hit their three-point shots and get the rebounds. And there goes my bracket. *sigh*

Bring on next year. :p

What a heckuva game by Wisconsin! They kept Beasely in check that whole second half, and Walker wasn't much of a factor either. The Badgers had that shot going down nicely, and knew how to hit the boards, too.

Duke losing didn't hurt me that badly, because I have Xavier beating them next round anyhow. But man... they have some great young talent, especially that Gerald Henderson. If they can beef up the interior a bit, next season will be fun!

Speaking of Xavier, they lead with only 30 seconds to go but Purdue is taking it to the wire.

Other games getting started. WSU leading the Irish early, Stanford and Marquette having it out as well.
