NCAA Football 2008 Discussion - It All Starts Here.

Still, the key to the game according to the afternoon drive-time show with Krenzel will be the OSU receivers. Can they get open and with some room, enough for Boeckman to deliver the ball. Otherwise, if they can't the Trojans will likely load the box, meaning it wont' matter who is in the OSU backfield.

USC's defense is soooo good. Without Wells, I expect heavy pressure, lots of blitzes, etc. Carroll knows defense. He comes up with great schemes and disguises.

Honestly, I'm a little nervous about tomorrow. You never know. It's so early in the season to tell if USC is really that good (although the Virginia game could not have gone better).

I talked to my Grandpa tonight. He's had season tickets to USC games since the 60's. About 10 of my relatives are going. I wish I could join them....

BTW... anyone amused at how virtually NObody is talking about Notre Dame vs Michigan? Who'd have ever thought we'd see that day coming?

Maryland up two TD's over Cal early in the first - didn't see that one coming!

I don't think anybody did. But there's a lotta ball left to be played.

Edit: Just saw that hit on Best - a real tooth rattler! He's been taken back to the locker room, albeit under his own power. This MD defense has been looking seriously good. The offense had been as well, until the last two possessions. That facemask call was iffy, though. :wtf:

I'm glad we have an early game with a little bit of intrigue. Normally at this point in the season, the early games are serious snooze-fests since all the marquee matchups are saved for primetime. I thought Maryland would make this game close, but I never thought they'd actually be winning by more than a touchdown.

As for Notre Dame-Michigan, I'll be watching. But I doubt anyone who isn't a fan of either program will be tuning in. In fact, this is one of the times I'm glad Notre Dame has it's contract with NBC, because there's a chance this game wouldn't be on TV otherwise.

I'll still watch it, because so much is riding on this game for each coach. Plus, it's one of those historically great rivalries.Personally, I think there's far more pressure on Weis than on Rodriguez.

The Oregon Ducks are playing Purdue today (at Purdue). Time for this year's thrashing of a Big 10 team. :)

I cannot believe the way MAryland is just ownign Cal today.

Cal has had chances, but the Maryland defense is in their faces and sticking it to them with such ferocity. THe Terps hadn't recorded a single sack in their first two games, yet have collected at least 5 today. (shakes head)

Geez ... Commander Vaughn, if you're watching that ND-Mich game, I feel for ya. :( Two miscues = two Irish touchdowns in the first four minutes. ...

And Cal nearly pulls it off against Maryland, but they'd dug themselves too deep a hole. Granted, the Terrapins had an awful lot to do with that hole.

Missouri.... I personally had them at #5 / #4 and it's looking even more accurate today.

File this under the "never saw that coming" category. :wtf: If that keeps up, then OSU has a couple games to worry about, than just the Trojans.

In that Cal-Md game, I cannot believe that the Bears gave up so many sacks and couldn't get the running game untracked.

Bad day for the Pac Ten so far.

Cal lost, and UCLA and Oregon are losing badly.

Hopefully my Beloved Trojans will make up for it.

Is it 5:00 yet???

I'm not getting to watch much of the game. A tornado warning in one of the far Southern counties means the game is being constantly interrupted by weather reports.

I'd like to see Michigan pull this one out. Take out those two early miscues, and this game is about even. Unforced errors are bad things.

Before today, I was ready to proclaim East Carolina the best non-BCS team. After seeing what BYU is doing to UCLA.... I am changin my mind. 49-0?!?!?! I don't care if UCLA is helping them with fumbles, it's still a completely unexpected result!

And South Carolina is winning a defensive game against Georgia?!?!

CV, is that weather a problem for you at all?

No, it's just a drizzly day here. Down by Kalamazoo is where the action is.

At least I can see the Oregon-Purdue game. And hopefully OSU-USC tonight.
