They clearly belong in this game and on this field.
Ditto. The worst part of it for me was that in the first half OSU was beating itself. Those two silly penalties made all the difference in the world. The crushing blow seemed to be Maualuga's interception for a TD. You just sensed the OSU team deflating. Can anyone beat USC. They are an insanely good football team. Damn what a beat down. I expected it to be a much closer game though and pity it wasn't.
Crap. I hadn't heard that. Even though I was pullign for Purdue, I really feel for you guys, because of all the QB injury troubles you've had the past two seasons.Oregon has lost their starting quarterback for two to four weeks with a knee injury. Only three games into the season and we're already down to our third string QB, backed up by two true freshmen. Ugh.
All you have to do is see how prepared and psyched Carroll and Co were to see that they believed they were playing a quality opponent. And they were. Problem is I think that even though talent levels are comparable, the coaching approach doesn't seem to be, and I'm not sure what to do about that. OSU has stumbled badly when the spotlight was at its brightest for sure... but not always. The national title in 2003, the Michigan win in 2006, the Michigan win last year. All three were pressure packed situations and high profile in their media scrutiny, even if Michigan was not the Michigan of past years.Frankly, I don't think a defeat of Ohio State proves anything about USC except that they can hold serve at home. The Buckeyes have stumbled and looked incompetent on the national stage so often it's become something to anticipate, perhaps even to expect.
No argument here, especially when some of the OSU players themselves feel that way.The OSU should have lost to Ohio, and would have if the Bobcats' special teams had managed a decent game.
Agreed completely. Right now, I'm even concerned about the MIchigan game, even if it is in Columbus.I'll not believe the Buckeyes are for real until and unless they run the table to Northwestern—which will require wins at Wisconsin and over a resurgent Penn State.
Here's an interesting question: If Georgia (or, frankly, any SEC team) runs the table, do they deserve to vault over an unbeaten USC, considering the schedules?
I was jokin', dude.
We don't really know anything about Auburn other than the fact they can shut down an inept offense like MSU's.
USC, to their credit, has put a whuppin' on a team with five-star talent.
I'd bet that Auburn's defense can shut down a better offense than MSU.
Auburn's offense, on the other hand....
