NCAA Football 2008 Discussion - It All Starts Here.

I haven't seen any of it, because of this thing I have called .... a daughter. :p She's been watchign a few episodes of B5 today. BUT... she's also a football fan, so maybe I can cajole her into letting me have the TV back in a bit. :(

Wow... this has been a heckuva quarter, and Auburn just hit a terrible punt!! Good thing for LSU they only need a FG.

Edit to add: Wow! What a play by the LSY defensive end! First he gets the 15 yd penalty for roughing the passer, then comes back with a sack for almost that same amount of yardage on the next play!

Yeah, that is an understatement. In the SEC, we eat our own.

What a great game! LSU pulls out another improbable victory. In my opinion, Auburn should stay in the top 10 in the polls. And I am a 'Bama fan. Bravo, guys.

I really feel for that other LSU QB. Concussions aren't fun.

Georgia won and Tennessee lost. A good day all around!

In I-AA news, Perilloux led my Gamecocks to a 31-3 victory over UTC.

Sorry, guys ... no annotations this week: I've got a fever and chills. :(

No cracks about how that explains my poll, either. ;)

Enjoy your Sunday of football. :)

Note that the Fighting Saints of Carroll College in Helena, MT, are still ranked number one in the NAIA poll. :techman:

A bye week for Cal, so I checked up on the Pac-10 stuff this morning. We are getting beat up, aren't we?

3-4 games in and only USC is undefeated.

No offense, Digits, but just one season I would like to see USC crash and burn. They've become like the Yankees to me.

What conference are the Gamecocks in?
Jacksonville St. plays in the Ohio Valley Conference

Thanks for remembering! We got creamed by Georgia Tech, but we've thoroughly pounded two non-conference opponents (Alabama A&M and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga). I think we'll probably be ranked after this weekend, and hopefully be able to run the tables in the conference.

Oh, I didn't remember. I just went through the SI.com website and found it easily enough.

No kidding. The Pac-10 hasn't looked real good the past couple of weeks.

Cheer up though. It should be mostly conference play from here on out which means at least half the teams should be winning.

Oregon's third string (i.e. starting QB) got knocked out of the game with a concussion yesterday. That's the fifth time in the last eight games the Duck's starting QB has been injured. Looks like we'll be starting a true freshman next week. At least we're playing Washington State, they lost two QB's yesterday too.

Maybe that's why Pryor didn't want to go to Oregon!

Nahhh... just joking. That is an awfully high number of injuries for the position. Does WSU also run a spread offense, too?

Pryor's decision had more to do with wanting to stay close to his family more than anything else. That's something I can respect and just the fact that Oregon was under consideration until the very end is good enough for me.

Washington State doesn't run the spread offense, they just got very unlucky yesterday against a lower division school (Portland State). PSU is coached by Jerry Glanville (remember him?) and insists that his defensive players hit hard. He wants offenses to pay for every yard they get.

Who's ready for some Thursday Night Football?!?!

This should be pretty straightforward, but after that *^%$# Stanford game, I don't take anything for granted.

GO TROJANS!!
