NBA Playoffs - 2009

The Bulls are NOT going quietly, pulling out a 2-OT win over Boston today!

I like Dallas so far, and not just because I'm German like Nowitzki and hate the Spurs. Their D is awesome, wow, what 67 points?? For a supposedly serious contender?
Keep in mind the Spurs are missing one of their best offensive players in Ginobili. That makes it quite a bit easier on the Mavs' defense. We'll see how the Mavs' defense works out against a good offensive team, although if New Orleans advances, Dallas still won't be seeing much of an offense.

The Blazers are up at the beginning of the fourth quarter. It'll be interesting to see if they can hang on.

Yao made sure the Blazers couldn't come back. :(
(nothing against Yao or the Rockets, btw)

But LeBron and Co. made sure the Pistons seized and couldn't get re-started. The only sweep of the first round.

He sure did. Bummer.

Well, at least we get one more home game this years and the Blazers got a little playoff experience, so it's not all bad.

NO and SA are in the same position right now. two outstanding point guards with little help. Duncan still isn't playing well, and West is having a weak series so far. Both benches are just about non-existent.

Fuck the Nuggets.

The commentators kept saying "that's playoff basketball", but some of the fouls and intimidation were straight up bitchmoves.

I feel sorry for CP, Peja and West and Chandler aren't helping him, neither is the outstanding Nuggets defense.

Thrilling game - again - between the Bulls and Celtics. That sure looked liek a flagrant foul by Rondo on Miller, though. :wtf:

Dwight Howard has been suspended today for intentionally elbowing Sammy Dalembert. It's a nice way for the NBA to say "We should have kicked him out yesterday by rule, but we screwed up." Of course, the ejection isn't exactly the same only a day late, since one was a home game, the other a road game (if I were the Sixers, I'd much rather Howard kicked out when you are in a hostile crowd to balance things out).

The Sixers face the Magic sans-Howard tomorrow to try and force a game 7. Then they'll face a rested Howard for game 7. Still, just like the Celtics-Bulls series, this one is showing you can't take the first round for granted right now.

Great game indeed, the Truth finally stepped up and showed how he acquired that title in the first place.

As for the foul, I'd say it was karma for that BS 6th foul they called on Ray that forced him out of the game.

Well, apparently the NBA doesn't consider Rondo's foul to have been flagrant: link. Personally, I'm still not sure myself... but it's over and done with, now.

OMFG. ANOTHER OT??!?!

Are this year's Bulls and Celts the most evenly matched teams in history given their injuries? I didn't think the Bulls would be able to hold their own but they've certainly proved me dead wrong.

Is anyone watchign tonight's Bulls-Celtics game?!?! PLEASE tell me you're watching it!!

Ray Allen just hit ANOTHER hand-in-the-face shot to save the Celtics' bacon... and we're headed to a third OT!!!

ETA: Final score - Bulls 128, Celtics 127

Even before game 7 is played, this may well be the most exciting NBA playoff series I've ever followed.

Man I regret not being into this series at the beginning. This Bulls/Celtics match-up is what you call EPIC. Man Game 7 is going to be awesome.

As a Celtics fan for most of my life, this has been a thoroughly enjoyable and frustrating series. How many f@#$#@ opportunities are you going to waste....
I see Bulls coming out on top. The Celtics are tired and on fumes, and the bench is problematic to say the least.
One last thing, outstanding officiating tonight, no complaints there.

I turned it off after the first overtime and was kicking myself this morning for doing so. It would have been worth being tired for.

I'll be firmly entrenched for Game 7 though. Learned my lesson!

What an incredible series. Two storied franchises, iconic uniforms, high drama, different heroes stepping up every night. Great stuff!

The Bulls were the team I loved to hate growing up as a Knicks fan in the 90s, but I like the current generation.
