Excuses.I see Bulls coming out on top. The Celtics are tired and on fumes, and the bench is problematic to say the least.

Last season in the playoffs, the Lakers were missing their starting center and a key frontcourt bench player (like the C's), and made it all the way to the NBA Finals after going through three 50 win teams to get there.
Great effort by the Bulls, but teams that live by the perimeter jump shot usually don't go far. If they could get a quality scoring big man, they might be able to take the next step.
I was saying the same thing, but he said '09.^ Hey what about the Pats?
Garnett's absence is a much bigger blow than Bynum's. And the C's don't have a Pau Gasol to slide over and take the missing spot.Excuses.I see Bulls coming out on top. The Celtics are tired and on fumes, and the bench is problematic to say the least.

Did you miss the point purposely? The Lakers made it to the Finals without their starting center and key frontcourt bench player. Didn't say they won it. So I don't want to hear about the Celts being tired and on fumes. You play with what you got without whinning.Excuses.I see Bulls coming out on top. Meh.
The lakers lost when it mattered the most because of their deficiencies that year, against a team centered around defense, whose focal point is not present this year.
Boston's inconsistency in its defensive play against a seventh seed in the playoffs is only a marker of that.
If your point is that the Lakers were, and are, a better team than the Celts with Gasol and Bynum in the lineup, then you may be right, since the Celts have never beaten that team.Garnett's absence is a much bigger blow than Bynum's. My point was that Garnett's talent and the difference he makes to his team far exceeds Bynum. And especially with he loss of Powe, the C's have no front court depth. They have no other big man that comes close to a Gasol or Odem to fill their missing big man's shoes. If your point is that the Lakers were, and are, a better team than the Celts with Gasol and Bynum in the lineup, then you may be right, since the Celts have never beaten that team.Garnett's absence is a much bigger blow than Bynum's.
