Back in the 60s, NASA actually hired FILMMAKERS to cover the launches and missions..that and constant sports-like commentary (with animated simulations) from the media made the missions much more exciting than the rather amateurish coverage they have today.
Perhaps NASA needs to revamp it's media coverage with music..and get rid of the long silences.. long silences are a sin in radio or television..NASA needs to re-learn that...
I often watch the NASA channel..and fall asleep during the endless shots of Mission control hour after hour...
they do need to use more cameras..simulations computer feeds and someone who knows how to keep an audience entertained...
