Clue # 1
Quite when and how the contents of this particular object were put together is anyone's guess. I doubt the creator would have had the facilities, at least not recently.

Clue # 4
The contents of this object seem to be built into one of the building's systems. Again, remarkable, given the location we are at.

Correct MAGolding!

Largely the clues speak for themselves.

Regarding clues 1 and 4, it's quite interesting to speculate how Garth got the materials to create the bomb, and then add it to the facility's systems.

Twice he talks of his 'latest invention'. To an extent, it's probably easy to manipulate the chair, but I find it hard to believe any dangerous chemicals would be on a facility such as this. Maybe the raw elements were on the surface, or perhaps Garth tricked another vessel beforehand to gain the materials? Perhaps he destroyed the vessel when the crew would not co-operate?

(As an aside, if he can change appearances, I find it hard to believe he didn't escape before now.)

Anyhow, over to you sir!

Arrgh!

I was sure this cou;dn't be the answer, because of your clue number 4 says:

The contents of this object seem to be built into one of the building's systems. Again, remarkable, given the location we are at.

And I didn't and still don't rmember any hint that the explosive was part of the heating system or the ventillation system, or the force field genrator or the power generation or any other building system.

So what building system was the explosive part of?

Clue # 1

This object is bigger than a breadbox - any alien whose breadbox was bigger than this object would be terrifying.
