Name That Star Trek Object

The phaser from The Galileo Seven?

Doctor McCoy and the Yeoman's phasers are both used to refuel the shuttlecraft. (Others probably too, but these are the only two I believe we see get handed to Scotty).

The dilithium crystals/necklace in Elaan of Troyius?

The Ambassador asks Elaan twice to wear the necklace as a peace offering. Indeed, the only time the crystals are used in such a fashion.

They are featured in other episodes primarily to drive the ship, but also Lazarus steals them for his own use.

The communicators creating the sonic disruption that caused the rock fall in Friday's Child?

I was gonna guess this before, but it only happens the once, unless you mean two communicators were being used?

CLUE #1
I'm an object that was used I believe in one episode for one specific purpose, twice! However the object was used in other episodes but for other reasons.

.....but a hand held object. CLUE #2

CLUE #3
This object (in my quiz) is used by one of the heroes!

Clue #4 This object (in my quiz) is used planet side!

CLUE #5 It is an object that was used in other episodes (for different functions) however in this episode it was in use backwards!

Incorrect! Your instinct must be developed to the fullest. The test must be complete.

CLUE #7 ( addendum to clue #5)
The object (the actual hand held prop!) was used and owned by an alien in another episode for a totally different function, again used backwards by the alien. The prop was used in other episodes (for other functions), Federation usage, but was used in the other direction as a different object

The device McCoy uses to control Spock's body in Spock's Brain?

I think Flint also uses it, but not sure if backwards?

Brain and brain, what is brain! Incorrect.
Clue #9
I am carried by one hero and used by another hero!

CLUE #10
Its usage is an advanced way of doing something rather than with brute force (or a phaser) and especially with lack of expertise, and when detection should be stealth.

Long shot.. The sonic device that Kirk uses to open doors on the base in Tomorrow is Yesterday? Possibly the same device as Atoz's stun gun?

Alohomora!
@Methuselah Flint You are correct.
The electronic/sonic lock-pick device that Sulu carries and Kirk used to open both the outer door to the "computer room" and the computer door/panel itself (blacked out front of device) in "Tomorrow Is Yesterday".

Not sure if it was Mr. Atoz stun device? but it is the exact prop that Lazarus (Alternative Factor) used (black side seen up front).

But I have to admit I am wrong in my clues!! I believed it was also used by others as a medical device and Mr. Spock as a tracker in "Assignment:Earth", the same device used reversed with a silver front, but looking at the photos again it could be the same with or without a black circular front, not reversed, but perhaps even an entirely different prop?? Any thoughts

Ah brill! When you said stealth, I thought it has to be that, but it's so small I couldn't be sure where else I saw it.

What episode is the last picture from?
