Name That STAR TREK Episode...

1st Clue: He's no angel.

Bread and Circuses, where McCoy says just once he wants to beam down and say he's the Archangel Gabriel, Spock objects, and McCoy says Spock could only pull off such an act on a planet requiring a pitchfork (or some such).

Wow that was fast. Yes, Bread and Circuses. You even got the clue.

Phaser Two is up.

@Phaser Two I did find some hits on the phrase "nickels to navy beans". Also, while "dollars to doughnuts/donuts" seems to be the most common form, other "dollars to ______" exist*, such as "dollars to dimes", "dollars to pennies", and "dollars to peanuts." Even "dollars to donut holes." Many of these date back to the 19th century. Point is, I think there is enough precedent and variation to allow for a writer to give a 22nd/23rd century update to the phrase.

*(did a search on Google Books for "wager dollars to -doughnuts -donuts")

Guessing Charlie X

No on Charlie X.

Ahhh, nickels to Navy beans!!! I see those references! I should have thought to search for more than just "Navy beans," or put other units of currency in there besides dollars. Thank you!

Glad you put that to rest for me as I couldn't see how a Robert Bloch script with teleplay by Fontana/GR/Coon could have put in something so strange. Thanks again. :techman::beer:

The next person who posts ‘Arena’ as an answer should be given The Booth, full duration.

No on City. And I don't see how any of those answers got where I was heading, so . . . .

Clue 1: But wait, what are they selling?
Clue 2
: Kirk shows a clever, if completely unanticipated, approach to resolve a violent situation.

Ah, those are both very good guesses indeed and fit the clues, even though you lazoids should really explain. :D But no. I will wait to see if anyone else guesses, then add a third tomorrow if needed.

Spectre Of the Gun

1. I see nothing in that shell of a General store for Chekov to get his package from.
2. Run away Jimmy-boy, run away!

Catspaw.
1. Korob offers Kirk a fortune in gems for (leaving/testing)?
KOROB: They are, I assure you. Diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires. All the crystalline forms that you cherish above all things. A fortune of them for each of you if you leave here without further inquiry.
KIRK: We could manufacture a ton of these on our ship. They mean nothing to us.
KOROB: Valueless? I don't understand. I read
KIRK: Whatever it is you read, you read it wrong. As for leaving, we'll leave when we're ready.
KOROB: You are most unpredictable. Perhaps I have made a small mistake. Nevertheless, you have passed the tests.
MCCOY: Tests?
2. Kirk smashes the transmuter, unexpectedly, at least I didn't expect it.
