However:
1) is about the instructors.
Kirk gets the beautiful and charming Shahna. Chekov gets the ugly authoritarian whatever. It could be interpreted as the "Chief gets the pretty one" but also as the "Russian guy gets the uggo", which is kinda xenophobic...
2) that's it.
3) They were beamed before their transporter got a chance to energize. So don't use your beamer, we'll use ours, except not to where you wanted to go.

i read the whole thread - i know exactly how it works. i'd like to be part of it but my knowledge is way too bad for that. so far there was no 2nd clue that didn't see me out in the woods. i will watch & learn
