1. Their research station is dusty.
2. I think Linke shoots Ozaba a dirty look after the latter quotes the Bible.
3. They vanish, so David Copperfield would dig that.
4. They are Federation personnel - but not Starfleet - and aren't located until about the midway point.
5. When found, sadly dead, they seem to be in the same positions they were in when they vanished.
6. They're contained inside tubes.

1. Kirk takes a voice print of Karidian to compare to the voice print of Kodos. Unfortunately, the test was not a complete match, so, Kirk lets him perform which gets him killed. (more "Worst Kirk Decisions")

I say it is Captain Kirk himself. When Spock makes the statement that he will have Kirk checkmated on his next move, Kirk makes an acknowledging move that counts. Spock then has to "listen" to the sound of the piece landing on the board.

I'll make a weird guess. Stella from "I Mudd". She maintains her post early because she is in that fixed chamber in the beginning. Later, as multiple copies, she is free to roam. She certainly makes her acknowledgement of Mudd's statement (Stella dear) count as she rips him to pieces.

1. Stiles family history gives reason to his hate/bigotry toward Romulans (and eventually Vulcans).

STILES: Family history. There was a Captain Stiles was in the space service then. Two Commanders and several junior officers. All lost in that war, sir.​

2. He's already on the bridge before Kirk arrives ready to deliver his bigotry.

How about Spock? He is usually the one not laughing, even when others are, at the end of some of the shows. A good example is the end of "Galileo Seven" (G7)

I'm not sure how to make the other clues work, but for #1 Spock acknowledges Kirk's comment that Spock is a stubborn man (in G7) by saying "Yes, Sir" which makes the whole bridge crew crack up laughing. For #2, not sure but he has several posts and in the end is not killed like a couple of others that were maintaining their posts on the planet in G7.
