Peter Kirk? He was lost (considered doomed), then recovered, and at the end he's sitting in the captain's chair in the deleted scene, suggesting a Starfleet career. Hey, that kid (also playing Tommy Starnes) got to sit in the big chair a lot! Almost as much as Sulu!

Lost in a space due to a collision. Actually, Nomad is found by Tan Ru, an alien space probe. The new Nomad is not quite the same Nomad probe, rather its a changeling, so, technically, the Enterprise did not truly find the real Nomad.

The obvious, unmistakable answer is Flint. He surveils the landing party. Really, there's no other selection that makes any sense, and this is definitely not an attempt to draw out more clues.

2. The Ekosians catch the costume change the first time when Spock fails to salute, but no one stops K&S when they leave the SS (Gestapo?) headquarters carrying Isak. They similarly fall for the trick again when K&S show up at the party with Daras.
3. Eneg seems to recognize Kirk and Spock in the closet from their previous encounter, but does nothing about it, hinting at his sympathies.
