Name That Episode, TNG Edition...

Clue #3: This episode was referenced, very obliquely, three seasons later.

So all we have to do is mentally sift through all the "very oblique" remarks that could be a reference to an earlier episode in up to 4 seasons of episodes...

Yeah, piece of cake!

I guess I'll wait for the tenth clue. The very very very very easy one!

Clue #4: Appearances can be deceiving when exploring new life forms; some dangers can be detected by appearance, some cannot.

Clue #5: Some of the main cast got a day off with this episode, probably because there were no bridge scenes.

Clue #7: This episode feature two "staple" plots that are not limited to any one genre.

Wait a minute... is it "Shades Of Gray"?
You are correct.
Clue #1 and #6: Riker repeats himself and says "now" three times. He also says "Data something's got me!" several times.

Clue #2: The biofilter can't remove the organism that infected Riker.
Clue #3: Riker obliquely mentions this episode in Violations when he talks to Troi while she is in a coma.
Clue #4: The organism is a harmless looking vine.
Clue #5: There were no bridge scenes and Michael Dorn doesn't appear outside of the clips used.
Clue #7: Shades of Grey is a "clip show" and a "disease of the week" show.

The Child is too obvious. Galaxy’s Child thing probably already knew.

That leaves Keiko and Spot, would need to cheat to remember which ep had that scene where Data wonders how Spot got pregnant.

So I’ll guess The Child in case the obvious clue was meant to make us doubt the right answer.
