I guess it's not 100% clear that the word 'Totally' when used unnecessarily is an indicator of false hyperbole, but I don't see your argument for the second clue. There is nobody who would ever hear "I lost a game" and think it meant "I misplaced it" rather than "I failed to win it". You're really reaching there.
What You Leave Behind?
You didn't say "he lost the game", you said, "he lost the program" and that's quite different. For example, you say "I failed a test" and not "I lost a test", nobody says the latter.
"Fail a program" makes sense when "lose a program" doesn't and sounds indeed like you've misplaced it.
You can use your own brand of English that you're the only one to understand or you can try to use the vernacular. It's up to you.

I have to say, you are being COMPLETELY absurd right now. I think you're being critical for the sake of critical. The clue was "Harder to lose it than to win it." No sane English speaking person would ever confuse that with "Misplaced".
