The hubby and I watched this tonight. Several years ago we watched that special where they showed all the "evidence" as to why it was a hoax. I do admit that the arguments for the hoax are very compelling. Even though it did make us say "Hmmm" a couple of times we were never convinced anyways.

It was nice to see the guys debunk the pictures stuff. I wasn't surprised about the flag waving part, that seemed obvious to me.

The only thing they didn't address that I wish they had was the pictures where it seemed like the crosshairs were being covered by equipment. Although I fully believe that it could just look like they're being covered.

Anyways, I loved the episode. I loved Adam and Jamie in the airplane. Too cute.

Sorry to say it is still alive and well. That is, the constant criticism of America by socialists and communists. It does not end. You can see it on several political discussion boards. For example, over at Protest Warrior, one person who calls himself a socialist is constantly bemoaning that Capitalism is a failure. If you look for it you will see it. It happens.

So you see, sometimes there is a reason to be a little bit paranoid after all.

You realise of course that the are conspriary theorists on the right who's claims are just as nutty and just as paranoid right and no doubt some of the will claim the moon landings were just a governmetn conspiracy to illegally take people's money through taxes or some twaddle like that.

TV production in the late 60s wasn't sophisticated enough to produce such a hoax.

It's amazing how rarely this gets pointed out. Just watch 2001. It had state-of-the-art SFX at the time and its moon walk isn't even close to the real one just a year later. Even modern SFX like in From The Earth To The Moon can't duplicate moon gravity.

Indeed. For Jamie and Adam -special effects artists with 20 or so years of experience- to duplicate Moon's gravity they had to resort to taking a parabolic plane flight. As their "gravity rig" even couldn't duplicate it.

It's absurd for anyone to think that just halfing the speed of film is going to duplicate things -as Jamie and Adam demonstrated.
