Myriad Universe?

He goes on to write a bestselling erotic book: "The Khan-a-Sutra".

Sorry it's a bit crap, but it's the best I could come up with!

When can we expect an announcement of what the concepts actually are for the six MyrU novels? The hypotheticals are fine, but it would be nice to know at least one real case.
As KRAD explained, the final approvals are still forthcoming, so I don't think specific details can be disclosed yet.

But having just turned it the final revisions to my manuscript, I can say that the title is The Chimes at Midnight, it takes place in the timeframe of the TOS movie era, and it is set within an alternate timeline that had been pre-established in a particular episode.

Mine's called "Seeds of Dissent", but I Khan't say what it's about yet...

As long as we're all giving titles, mine is Places of Exile. (Lots of plural titles here.) And it's about what would've happened if one person had made a different choice of words at a key moment -- and thereby changed everything that followed.

Tasha gripped Data's arms, looking into his eyes. "And what I want now is gentleness. And joy. And love. From you, Data. You are fully functional, aren't you?"

"Yes, in most respects," Data replied. "However, I believe the subroutines to which you may be referring will not be installed until Tuesday."

Fueled by rage and disatisfaction, Tasha reached for her phaser and leveled it at the android.

Data stared dumbfounded at his crewmate. "Oh, shi...."

Oh, and mine is A Less Perfect Union, which is about if McCoy were not a doctor, but an escalator. (See, I told you all upthread not to make assumptions!)

^ I think I'll have someone make a reference in Destiny to a new pedestrian conveyance at Starfleet Academy: the Leonard McCoy Memorial Escalator.

Re: Myriad Universes?

So, let's see, that would be (edited to add Chris Roberson's title which Geoff mentions in the next post):

INFINITY'S PRISM:
Places of Exile by Christopher L. Bennett
A Less Perfect Union by William Leisner
Seeds of Dissent by James Swallow

ECHOES AND REFRACTIONS:
A Gutted World by Keith R. A. DeCandido
Brave New World by Chris Roberson
The Chimes at Midnight by Geoff Trowbridge

(Going alphabetically for each volume -- I don't know if they'll actually be in that order.)

McCoy: "I'm not dead yet. I'm not. I'm getting better..."

Re: Myriad Universes?

(Two worlds: One brave, one gutted...) :wtf:
WHO WILL SURVIVE???????????

*ahem*

My title comes from the Wallace Stevens poem "A Postcard from the Volcano." A longer quote from the same poem serves as the novel's epigraph:

A dirty house in a gutted world,
A tatter of shadows peaked to white,
Smeared with the gold of the opulent sun.

Re: Myriad Universes?

He's already got a burning house. There's no need to make it dirty, too.

Re: Myriad Universes?

And you chose not to go with A Dirty House???
Heck, I really wanted to go with Smeared with the Gold of the Opulent Sun, but I figured that would be excessive -- I already pushed my luck with Enterprises of Great Pitch and Moment.....

Well, TrekWeb has picked up on our flurry of title announcements here, although they could've stood to proofread it before posting, since they gave Chris Roberson's name as "Rob Robberson":
Oops, looks like that was my fault as they got the info via my blog. Don't know where I got Rob from... has nice ring though don’t you think, Rob Robberson...

I'm good at jumbling names I spelt Keith's wrong before...

Re: Myriad Universes?

^You're not the only one. David R. George consistently misspelled Keith's name in Twilight ...
