Re: My Own Worst Enemy (is the ratings): "The Night Train To Moscow" 1
Below average. KGB? Snore. The fact that Sarah was the real spy who wrote the message was stunningly obvious, and just goes to show the sub-par level at which this show is written. This episode actually made me glad it's been cancelled.
Poor Christian Slater, he's really good in this too. The writers and producers are totally letting him down. And the basic concept of a guy at war with himself is also good, but man oh man, the "spy" angle was not the way to go. It just drags everything down by being both illogical and very tired.
And it really doesn't help matters to have
Chuck, same network and same night, showing how to do a spy show in a way that is fresh, original and fun.
So let me get this straight: My Own Worst Enemy gets cancelled, yet somehow Knight Rider is deemed worthy of a mid-season reboot??
MOWE could benefit from a total reboot, and unlike
KR, which is hopeless, has the potential to become something good. What if JANUS were uncovered by the FBI or whoever and dismantled. Edward and Henry would both still exist - to "fix" them would require murdering Henry - and since the guy's got a family, how can you justify that? But Edward is the "real" person, he has to survive, too. So the problem becomes, how does Edward/Henry just go on coping with life, with this unresolvable situation?
