Given his admission to truly heinous acts, I’m almost surprised he’s not been digitally replaced with someone else at this point.

I kinda want them to leave the Galaxy via the Barrier now. I mean every season featured a surprising callback to TOS (S1 - Mirror universe, S2 - Hanging out with Talosians, S3 - Meeting the Guardian of Forever). No one needs to go all Gary Mitchell or anything, but just have them out that way to investigate.
Tarka is not from another universe, He's from our universe. Tarka says that he found a universe were the burn and the emerald chain never existed and that he wanted to make that universe his new home with his partner.
His TMP commentary has been excised from all new and future re-releases of the film, so his journey to “cancelled” is all but complete.
Bonus points to the costume department for giving the Ferengi delegate a very Quark-like dress jacket. Whatever issues one has with the revised makeup the costume is classic Ferengi civilian wear.

I like the redesign, even though I don't really understand why they didn't connect the eyebrows to the ears... That is the fundament of the Ferengi design....
Yeah, connecting the ear cartilage to the brow ridge would have made it fantastic. Another example of "change it just because we can."

while I agree it’s likely just a “change it because we can” thing. It’s always possible he/she isn’t a full Ferengi.
