My local Pizza Hut sucks.

I ,for one, am shocked that such a high-class dining establishment as Pizza Hut would be selling substandard breadsticks. Is nothing sacred?

I've found that Pizza Hut has better pizza for their all you can eat buffet lunch than for their delivery stuff

I went to our local Pizza Hut for the first time in almost a decade, and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza wasn't greasy like they used to be, and it was well made. The breadsticks were good as well. So I told them I was pleasantly surprised and happy with my order.
I didn't get anything free.

I usually go to a local mom and pop place that makes a good pizza, but my son has been wanting to go to a Pizza Hut for a while, and it's my first Saturday off in almost three months, so I took him out.
I quit eating the likes of Pizza Hut and Dominoes over 10 years ago for that very reason. I'll eat either Little Caesar's or get pizza at the store.

Hmmmm.... I guess the solution is simple: next time, forgo the breadsticks.

I think the solution is even more simple: Next time, don't order from Pizza Hut.

I have one only four blocks away from my house, but the only time I call it up is when it's late and I'm really desperate for food. Usually, when we're thinking pizza, we either go to one of the sit-down restaurants in the area or pick up a take-and-bake from Papa Murphy's or Hy-Vee.

So the other night I ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut as well as some breadsticks.

When I opened up my breadsticks box much to my surprise it wasn't the usual PH breadsticks I'm used to but it was looked to be their regular pizza crust only without any toppings and some-kind-of seasoning on them -perhaps the regular breadstick seasoning?

Kind of ticked me off. Today I called them and complained and I was told that their manager cheaps-out on his ordering and doesn't get the usual breadsticks and just uses their crust.

But, hey, my next order is now free from them!
Do you ever make your own dinner, or always just get take-out?

I occasionaly make my own dinner but it's hard to cook for one and not have a ton of left-overs meaning I'm eating the same dinner all week long. The pizza was ordered between a buddy and I as we sat here Saturday evening watching TV and talking.

I've gotten free stuff before when I bring positive items to the attention of the manager. Usually it's for smokin' good service, but it ocassionally be for really good food too.

They don't really know what to do, so I get a free voucher anyway.

How much are you cooking? I usually cook for just myself and only end up having two-days worth of leftovers. I use them for my lunch, but there are a lot of recipes out there that detail cooking for just one or two.

Domino's is the worst . . . even Little Caesar's is better than Domino's

Little Caesar's isn't over here in Blighty, as far as I know.

Also, Domino's is generally less plastic tasting than Pizza Hut.

Agreed - I actually quite like Dominos pizza, but it costs a bloody fortune. Thanks to the Mrs we get 50% NHS discount and it's still £6 a pizza or more if you want a decent one with an actual amount of topping.
Basically, its nice enough stuff, just daylight robbery prices. Pizza Hut is just as bad price wise and not as nice, so they pretty much never get my custom.

Pizza Hut's food is either really good, or really bad. If you insist on eating it, you must go to a Pizza Hut where they have an actual sit-down area so you can order your food and eat it there, when it's hot and fresh from the oven. It tastes great. However, if you order it carry-out or delivery, the pizza will end up cooling off a bit and the taste suffers dramatically.

I will not order Pizza Hut if I'm doing delivery. I simply refuse. It never tastes good. I love Papa John's. I typically have no problem with them. I also enjoy the smaller chains such as Three Brothers, Mama Lucia and Ledo's.

Chains like that usually have strict recipes and ingredient suppliers that must be used if the franchise is to be allowed to use the chain's name and logos. Of course corporate influence is even stronger over corporate owned locations.
I used to work for Pizza Hut as a cook as my 2nd job. Both a restaurant location and then moved to a takeout & delivery only location.
Yes it is a major corporate culture. Unlike Subway sandwich store which are almost all franchises I believe the Pizza Huts are all corporate owned.
The shift managers answer to the Store Manager. The Store Manager makes a decent salary and answers to the regional managers.

Some national website comment form isn't going to get results anytime soon.
If you really want to complain find out who the regional manager for the Pizza Hut in your area is and target them directly with your problem. They will make that store manager change his tactics pretty quick.

An NHS discount for takeout pizza? How does that work? :vulcan: And how can I get it? I'll agree on the prices, even if there's a batch of you ordering (which usually results in buy one get one half price), you'll usually end up paying £10 each (which is a regular thing for our lot).

What they lack in plastic they make up for in cardboard.

Pizza Hut has always been good pizza I don't know why a lot of people on the 'net complain about it?

Pizza Hut has pizza, but it sure isn't GOOD pizza.

I admit to occasionally getting a craving for the stuff since I had it a lot growing up, but if you live in most any suburban or urban area you should be able to do a ton better for pizza than Pizza Hut.
