I don't think I missed your point at all. I find it as stupid and ridiculous as everything else that goes on here, including the fact that adults are spending their free-time moderating an Internet forum.

Edit: You talk about the poor mods and admins being forced to take it seriously, like they have to ref some horribly juvenile disagreement between two sides. But I think that Bonz actually instigated a lot of the issues and has been one of the more "inflammatory" posters in this case, so in that regard I don't feel bad at all.
Also I can't think of a better Christmas present for Locutus than this thread. Bit early, but I know it's just what he wanted this year.

That's exactly what is happening here. The drama is just so over-the-top. "We're being persecuted for loving a children's pony show!" Well, Cowboy up, Cupcake. It's a tough world out there. I'm sure one of your pony shows must have dealt with overcoming adversity, right?

I know Bonz pretty well, but I would never assume to speak for her. I'll just say this....all she ever wants is for people to chill out, see both sides, and use common sense. She also usually wants people to take themselves a little less seriously.

I can understand T'Bonz's annoyance at the pony names for Hallowe'en, since the whole point of the Hallowe'en names is to give the board a Hallowe'en theme - which they weren't.

The problem with that is that a number of people were allowed non-spooky names (Lucas Is Bored and Nickelback, for example). Changing names on Halloween is like dressing up for Trick or Treat-- people don't just dress up as ghosts and goblins, they also dress up as superheroes and Disney princesses. In any case, being annoyed is no excuse for the Admin of a board to treat a segment of her membership unfairly. Her self-stated purpose here is to make sure everybody has fun.

That is what got me. I don't think some know how much time it takes, especially since it was during the time when the server was slower than molasses, to input those names.
Had the thing *not* been overdone, I'd have never said a word. Fads come and go. Not only was it overdone, but it came onto my territory (the name changes thing). Not enough to have it shoved in our faces in inappropriate places, but I'm supposed to do work in aid of it? Fuck that.
Generally, since I *do* run the board, I try to almost never express my opinions, because no matter what, even if your viewpoint is in the majority, you will offend someone and that usually detracts from running the place.
I've run this place for seven years, and forgive my vanity, I think I've done a good job (with much help from my admins and mods). Remember what it was like when I took over? The oldies here do. We used to *really* have problems back then. Constant battles, constant trolls and it was a hard place.
My words are *not* aimed at the fans of MLP who are not causing the trouble. I am well-aware that most can express their liking without overdoing it. Obviously, I don't hate those who love the things, as I just made a mod of a pony fan and it never crossed my mind to deny her it due to her fandom.
