My Grievances of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

Re: My Greivences of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

And I'm glad you're glad, really! Couldn't be gladder.

Careful, you're all going to end up with infections of the Gladder Gland.

Re: My Greivences of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

Okay, I finally saw this movie.

Um... they finally put seatbelts on the Bridge - very fashionable-looking ones, too. (See? I did find something nice to say about it)

Overall, though, I thought it was a complete waste of time and I want my 2 hours and 12 minutes back.

(damn, that was one wooly-looking tribble...)

Hey, you can't hate the Abrams films! If you hate them, that can only mean you hate all of Trek!

Re: My Greivences of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

That doesn't seem like a very logical assumption to make.

Re: My Greivences of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

It isn't, but I notice how that's implied where someone would critize an aspect of nuTrek but then you get defenders saying "what are you going on about? That's how it has always been, check out episode x, see? You can't hate nuTrek without hating the rest!"

Likes and dislikes are subjective.

I'm shocked you didn't like it after complaining about it for six months.

Woolly Tribbles?

Damn you, Abrams! Damn you to hell!

Re: My Greivences of Nutrek. What makes me a hater...

Everyone who hates it is wrong.

Of course they are. As Star Wars movies go, it's easily better than two of the three prequels or ST09.

Plus, you know who else didn't like the Abrams Trek franchise? Hitler! That's who!

(And what sort of person might have risked the very timeline to go back in time and tell him about it, as we see in that compelling and completely authentic documentary footage... Timewalker. The pieces are all starting to fit...)

Those seatbelts were nice, weren't they?

They took their time actually applying themselves to someone, several vital seconds were you could be thrown from your station anyway.

Also, Vengeance didn't have them, so either the S31 shemps were disposable, or they were arrogent enough to believe they wouldn't be needed.

Well.... they looked cool deploying, at least. And now I can pretend the TAS ones open in the same manner (but oddly nobody ever thought to use them in TOS, or in all the other TAS episodes where they'd have been useful)

Trying to recall, but aren't the bridge chairs in the TOS not bolted to the floor? Sort of makes seatbelts pointless when the whole chair can come flying headfirst into the forward viewscreen with you.

They were attached, but seemingly by bad superglue. It took a good jolt to really upend them, but they came away very easily when they did.
