My God, it's full of THREAD BOMBS!

I'm curious to see if the moderator who was so quick to swat down the anti-atheist post will have anything to say about this.
I'd say that "swatting down" is in the eye of the beholder too.

No moderator action was taken as a result of that post. The post was treated exactly like the many other non-humor posts in this thread. You may want to go back and review the earlier entries in case you want to form a more cohesive argument.
Argument? What am I supposed to be arguing? That the original anti-athiest post was funny? I don't think it was. That the moderator shouldn't have said anything about it? No, that's not my position. As I stated, I was just curious as to whether the anti-Christian post would get the same treatment.

As an athiest (surprised?) who does not have a big chip on my shoulder concerning Christians, I really don't have any vested interest in any "holy wars" here. I was just...curious. :)

Your post seemed to be suggesting that Locutus' statement was unfair to Christians. That is what I thought you were arguing.

^ Believe me, I know there are some posters here you really have to "read between the lines" with. And I know you, as a MOD, often have to deal with them.

But I'm not one of those posters. If one of my posts only "seems to be suggesting" something, then it's probably not something I was trying to say at all.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Perhaps that would seem to suggest that possibly there was the implication of one's perception of a subjective meaning. Maybe.

Sure. Whether or not an individual finds it funny based on their own personal beliefs or experiences, it is quite obvious by its language that the pic you cited was at least trying to be humorous in addition to possibly trying to make a serious point, because the two aren't mutually exclusive. Whereas the original pic was a completely serious commentary on what the poster believed was atheism's direct involvement in the genocidal murder of 140 million people. The poster in question even defended the pic as completely serious in his follow-up post. There was no humorous turn of phrase, no funny imagery, just pics of totalitarian leaders and a death toll laid at the feet of atheism.

Hopefully, one can also recognize the difference in questioning a tenet of a religion and blaming a completely disorganized group today for the deaths of 140 million people in the past.

Argument? What am I supposed to be arguing? That the original anti-athiest post was funny? I don't think it was.

Since that is quite literally the same thing I said, I don't understand why you felt the need to take issue with my post.

That the moderator shouldn't have said anything about it? No, that's not my position.
If that's true, and since I took no moderator action and just commented as a poster like anyone else here can do (and some did), I don't understand why you felt the need to take issue with my post.

As I stated, I was just curious as to whether the anti-Christian post would get the same treatment.
It's not anti-Christian in the sense that it's blaming Christians for murder or insulting them personally, it's just raising a question about what the poster feels is a seeming contradiction in religious doctrine. Hell, religious people do that. If they didn't Christianity would consist of one giant uniform group instead of a bunch of different sects.

As an athiest (surprised?) who does not have a big chip on my shoulder concerning Christians, I really don't have any vested interest in any "holy wars" here. I was just...curious. :)
Glad to hear it. I too have no beef with Christians, and defend them frequently when they are unfairly maligned (I can cite several TNZ and Miscellaneous threads if anyone doubts me). If someone made a completely unfunny, uninformed, and unfair comment about Christianity or any other religion I'd happily ask the same "Where's the funny?" question then too, as I have in cases not involving religion or politics or any controversial subject at all.

Now that we've gotten that drama all sorted out, can we get back to posting funny pics?
