This season looks promising...

It has been a rather dull and unamusing season of late.

But, getting back on topic, yeah i wouldn't bother to go. It's not exactly the same, but it's close to what you are experiencing. Sort of. A few years ago, my dad asked me to attend the funeral of my oldest brother's godfather. I didn't know this man at all; i felt uncomfortable going and told my dad so. He didn't like it, but didn't force me to go either. So ultimately, the decision is yours.

My 2 cents worth: if you are not emotionally invested in this guy, why would you care if he hates you or not? You told him, "No, thank you," and that should be the end of it. If he is as bad as you say, be glad if he never speaks to you again.
