My 3 Year Old Nephew Likes the Animated Series...

:vulcan:

I never thought I'd find anyone who truly likes the Animated Series.

It's not horrible... well... ok... it is pretty bad. But it's a part of Trek. I'd never seen it. So I bought it on DVD. It's the only Trek show I've watched once and put away.

On a fluke though, I thought I'd show it to my nephew. He's 3, almost 4.

...And he truly likes the Animated Series!

Today, he was in the store with my mom, and wanted some Star Trek figure. He bought Scotty and Sulu (nuMovie -- the difference is meaningless to a kid).

So...

If you want to get your young-ones into Trek? Toss TAS in the DVD Player.

Why in the frak doesn't CBS do a new Animated show? Look what it's done for Star Wars.

Who knew there would ever be a use for TAS?

I was 3 when TAS was originally made. It's what got me into Star Trek (well, that and my mom always talking about it). Your nephew is clearly going to grow up to be a person of exceptional intelligence.

Bad? Maybe, but that's irrelevant. It's Star Trek.

Beats anything else.

I've only seen Yesteryear, and liked it a lot...

I like the Clone Wars very much, but if Trek was ever to be given a new animated series, I wish that it'd be in anime style.

I've been rewatching the animated series for the first time since it came out a few years back, and as bad as parts of it are, I think it's very impressive overall. That Trek managed to make the jump to Saturday Morning TV with much of it's maturity and style intact, with the original cast and many of the same writers writers, is an amazing feat.

That said, it's not as cool as Jonny Quest......but what is?
