I don't have a problem with the Spock/Saavik thing. I mean Sarek was likely 60 and Amanda likely in her 20s when they got together. And as far as Spock being Saavik's mentor, well, I work in academia and I see marriages between professors and their students all the time. It is likely, too, that if that much time passed, we are talking about a 60 year old Saavik and a 100 year old Spock. It's not like Saavik would be a child anymore.

Think the scene with Christine in Sarek's company in TVH might probably a clue for
Spock and Chapel renewing their relationship at some later point. Maybe they've been already been married then or they did it later.

Tbh I never liked that Spock had sex with Saavik and the idea of him marrying her. She was his adoptive daughter. Don't know what the writers were smoking when they wrote the script for TSFS.

I felt that way until I read The Prometheus Design and Unspoken Truths. It's clear she sees him as more than a mentor, and from his meeting with her, he seems to see himself in her. Actually, he says in the book that her trials on Hellguard make him think of his childhood bullying as trivial. By the end of the book, both are healed in some respects through a mindmeld in which they both realize they are not "half" of anything--they are whole people. It's rather moving, really. And there are a couple of times when Spock dresses down McCoy for lying to Saavik and presuming that he knows what she needs. That speaks to his deep respect for her as an adult person. So I guess that's why I can see them together eventually. They have a complete understanding of each other.

I've always been sorry the author did not write another book about them or anything else featuring Star Trek.

Did she Kal-if-fee Stonn? Did he get killed?
In Spock's World by Diane Duane, he is upset that she isn't turned on by him, so he takes some drugs to induce pon farr and dies of them. T'Pring then starts a whisper campaign that brings about a vote to withdraw Vulcan from the Federation as revenge on Spock. No outworlders would be permitted, which means Sarek would either have to divorce Amanda and she would have to go back to Earth, or he would have to leave Vulcan to live with Amanda on Earth. And Vulcan would forever be forbidden to the half-human Spock.
