mrcoaster's Homely Online Band

I also play trombone, heh. But my mike is a horrible £2 thing, so it wouldnt be much use.

I do play keyboard though (especially blues/jazz stuff) and a bit of guitar, if you need anymore keys/guitar in there. I can record them both using the line in on the soundcard, so I don't need to use a mike.
Being a Brian May (Queen) wannabe, I can do very pretty Brian-May type guitar harmonies ,if you like that sort of thing :D

Boy hofner’s “Clowns never laughed before…” remark didn’t fall far from the tree.

Sorry, I’ve just never been a big fan of the DAG thing, but I will work with it the best I can! (Positive attitude and all...)

One thing is, it needs some more color! There’s the obvious: throw in a 7th and +9th on the A turnaround. I’m also going to mess around with some variations on the B minor chord maybe a Minor 6th or mess around with some inverts.

The problem I see is there isn’t a lot of room for a good ol’ guitar melody aside from maybe some simple arpeggios, but I will see what I can come up with!

Well, allow me to reiterate: don't do too much work on it because it isn't necessarily the basis of the final product. If it is, it certainly needs work, but we don't know yet. Again, I was going for a feeling and a direction, in this case a sort of up-and-poppy feel with a few minors thrown in.

My suggestion is, hold off until coaster gets back to me and then we'll move on to the next step.

We need to be talking about this sort of thing more often on a Trek message board. I like minor 6ths. Although I must warn you, I can't guarantee my participation if you guys start throwing in a flat 9 on every chord, like some people here at school like to do. ;)

*GASP* LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

OMG!

*snuggles the sweeties in the thread* :)

Btw, since im supposed to sing in this song, i sure hope i wont dissapoint people.. i aint no Mariah Carey..

The song doesn't sound anything REMOTELY like "Clowns never laughed before" - not at all. ;)

I like the general rough beginning of it. I will have to do some further analysis to see if I can come up with something to add or change. I won't be home for a couple of days (and even then, my time there will be less than 36 hrs), so I'll try to see what I can think of when I get there. I should probably go through the PITA scenario of carrying one of my guitars with me on my next trip. I won't be able to do anything recording-wise with it...just not equipped to do that carrying stuff through security and on a plane every day, but at least I could tool around on the six-string.

An example of how one of my songs evolved can be found here:

Track 1 is an acoustic solo version. When I wrote it I had intended it to be slow and thoughtful, but when my old band worked it we turned it into a straight rocker. While screwing around one night, we tried it as a ska song - as a goof - and decided we liked it better. You can hear the finished product on Track 2.

I could do a 'spoken word' interlude, like Vincent Price did in "Thriller." That would be cool. Hello? Hello? Pick up. Pick up. :D

Hey, why not? I like your work, I've heard it. You're in, too.
Sweet! Thanks!

Check out Large In Time; something for everybody! :)

  I have those in my music folder :D

Well for what it's worth, here's a little song I wrote and recorded years ago. The recording quality isn't that great, it was an amateur effort. I was trying out a 4-track cassette recorder I'd bought and it's an old recording.

Warning to slow connection users; The filesize is about 4 Megabytes.

Yoink!!!

Thought i'd best save this highly important thread.

Any further news guys? We're waiting patiently for something to work at.

Its ok, missmanners. Its when me, AA, Dennis, Worf412, and SPOCKED start doing the fangirl thing that Shatna needs to start worrying.
