As Courtney Love has proven, we don't really need to be sober or straight to get the track recorded. We just need a few friends who are to help record it FOR us.

Well, here's an idea for a song. 'Maybe' I'm "borrowing" from some other musician but phhffftt, musicians "borrow" from each other all the time. Chords are above lyrics:

beanstalks never
G
grew.

Then jkladis comes in pounding loud and hard on his cowbell.

That's as far as my creative juices can go for now. Maybe it's a stinker of an idea, you guys can kick it out of the end zone if you like.

That'd work. The "pass it on" method isn't REALLY necessary for everything but you get better results if the next person can hear everything that's been done so far. An extreme example is it'd be hard for a harmonizing vocalist to coordinate with the main vocals if they have only a basic rhythm track and no main vocals to sing to.

I hadn't thought of that. Yeah it would be good to be able to hear what's been done so far, the later recorders would have a better feel for it.

This sounds like a really fun project, but I can't sing or play an instrument. When you're famous and start doing live tours, though, I could be a back up dancer!
