Mr. Robot, Season Two

And it may mean that thing with Gideon never happened.

That thing wasn't from Elliot's perspective, and If I recall correctly when not shooting from his perspective things always seem to be depicted as they are.

Good point. Which is a shame, because that was not a good development at all.

The premiere was kind of a mixed bag for me. I didn't like how everyone was in different places and not interacting with one another. I don't like the adversarial relationship between Elliot and Mr. R. It just feels incompatible with that incredible touching scene earlier where Mr.R says they're going to try to take me away but I'll never leave you Elliot, you'll never be alone. It was a beautiful scene and now they're at war with each other.

I like the battle between the two but it really does have to stop at some point so things can get done and plot can move forward. Craig Robinson is great in his role; he's both appealing and creepy as hell. I can't wait to see how his relationship with Elliot plays out.

LOVED Elliot snapping in the prayer group. "Oh shit, did I say that out loud?" :guffaw:

Well the F word censoring is back this week. They even put a black bar over it when it was spelled out.

(Didn't see 2X02 yet, better stop reading this thread until I do)
My friend is convinced both of Elliot's new friends are imaginary. Particularly since the one showed up with a dog to conveniently replace the loss of the other one. And Elliot never talks to the other one just listens to him rambles.

So everyone in Elliot's happy fantasy I recognized except for the tall blonde. Who was that?

^I don't remember her, either. And please refresh my memory: who was the poor sap that Mrs Wellick was harassing in the SUV?

I loved the chess game; that was great. Ray is definitely real; we see him in his own house, we see him out with his thug sidekick, and in another place altogether, threatening that one poor guy. But what exactly does Ray do? It's not good, whatever it is.

Leon finally finished Seinfeld. But is Leon real? Not sure about that. I loved the scene where Leon gets Elliot to dream; that was a great sequence.

He was the parking lot attendant when Elliot woke up in Tyrell's vehicle which had been parked there for the three days he has no memory of.

The opening scene of this week's episode is one of my all time favorite tv scenes. It was mesmerizing. The origin of Mr. Robot. I'd always wondered exactly what Darlene knew and how complicit she was in using Elliot and his disability to her own advantage. And the origin of the mask as well! Elliot putting on the mask for the first time and coming up with the idea of bringing it all down was powerful; and he looked completely insane with his eyes glaring through the mask. Amazing stuff.

I'm also fascinated by B.D. Wong's character. Part of me wonders if President Evil actually WANTED this to happen as part of some long term plot to take everything over. I'm also greatly relieved to see Elliot finally back in action and making peace with Mr. Robot.

And I wonder if there wasn't something more to her saying "init1" to him like that. It was almost as if it was a hypnotic suggestion or something. Like she's programmed him with a second personality.

I'm not sure if this is going to connect to the rest of the season, but it's nice to see this character again.

They make cameras that film every single angle, then they just merge them all together so it looks like you're able to look in any direction.

I'm a couple of episodes behind. This season hasn't been grabbing me like the first season. It's good to know there's something awesome awaiting me.

The psycho-sitcom was brilliant.

I liked the contrast between the psycho family car ride and young Elliot and his dad riding in the car to the store. Very meta, even, in its implicit self-critique of the show itself, as a show.
