Mr Robot is Coming.

Wow...so much freakin' crazy stuff. from BD Wong, to the not-quite-abortion , to Eliot's 1st erasure/DVD backup to Darlene to Mr. Robot himself! Shocking -- but drawing me in rather than saying WitW.

That foreign couple are cray-cray!.

At least Eliot quickly finds out it's his sister, as opposed to Luke & Leia. But how did he block that all out? I guess we'll get a flashback soon enough...but wowzers.

And more important, Mr. Robot is real, and they are not going for the Fight Club ripoff we suspected (well, at least it looks like that it's not the case...we'll confirm next week)

Well, they have definitely set it up for next season. But i wonder if this season will end in a way where it could have been their only season...

What???

Elliott is clearly Mr. Robot. Mr. Robot just happens to take the image of his repressed memory of his father.

That's my read on it as well. When he's flipping out and looks in the mirror, his reflection shifts between Elliot's face, the Fsociety mask and Christian Slater's face -- all three of his personas.

I wouldn't take the mirror as gospel - I watched it slo-mo and Darlene and Angela are shown in the hoodie too.

And Tyrell. And the show's creator.

I've been rewatching the series from the beginning, and noticing things that were odd the first time around that make sense now. In episode two, Elliot finds Darlene in his apartment, uninvited, and asks how she knew where he lived. Darlene replies "why wouldn't I know where you live?"

And yet they didn't have each other's phone number until this episode. (But yeah, thanks for pointing that out, I actually just rewatched the first episode again last week, and intend to go through the rest again too. Not sure if it'll be before the finale though. Probably not.)

So, what are the odds that the final scene of the season finale is Elliot opening his eyes and realizing he's locked up in a padded room, and the entire series has all been in his head? And his crazy next door neighbor that he talks to sometimes is Tyrell? And the reason everyone said this show "reminds me of Fight Club/The Matrix/Donnie Darko/American Psycho/Breaking Bad/etc" is because Elliot just watched those shows, and thus those stories are easiest for him to form a delusion about? Considering some of the meta first person narration going on here, and especially that scene where Elliot shook the camera/imaginary friend, it wouldn't shock me if none of this was real.

You have to admit, that would be a great in-show explanation for why this show has so many elements of Fight Club/American Psycho/etc in it.

Now that said, I don't necessarily want to see that happen. I'd much rather see Evil Corp fall and I want to see Elliot change the world.

Ha! I knew it right from Episode one that Mr Robot was not real (hello fight club!) it was an interesting twist that it was Elliot's dead dad though. I'm guessing the return of Darlene may have triggered his hallucination of his dad.

Episode 9-
Rami Malek deserves an Emmy for his performance in this episode. Loved the piano instrumental of "Where is my mind?" in the last scene, a really nice nod to Fight Club.

I'm hoping that Elliot sees the pistol in the popcorn machine and shoots Tyrell with it.

Can't wait for the finale next week.

This is by far the best series of this summer. I also smiled at the Where Is My Mind? piano theme.
I wonder if the season will end with a big FU or if a second season is possible?

The show was already renewed before the first episode even aired, so you'll be getting at least 10 more episodes next year.

A bit disappointed that his dad is indeed a figment of his imagination as everyone was predicting early on, but the mechanics of him faking his death, being on the run and leading a hacker revolution would be too much even for this show.

Hopefully they actually have a plan for his role and it doesn't turn out like Dexter's dad who just started repeating everything Dexter said or stating the obvious.

"Computer Repair with a Smile!" on the window.

That made me smile.

Loved the time-lapse shot of the storefront going from Mr. Robot to Bank of E.

Love this show.

Loved the Pulp Fiction brick joke. Yep, pretty fucking far from OK... :)

Wonderful show.

Just caught up on the last two episodes. Even though it was clear that Slater was part of Elliot, I still loved the reveal. The sister, the whole plan, the trip home---even revealing the hideout. Wasn't that the song from Fight Club playing? Very clever.

I really enjoy this show. Can't wait to see more!

Part of me wanted to bawl like a baby when Christian Slater laid himself down into Edward Alderson's grave.

I've really loved his performance in this show, and I hope that wasn't the last we'll see of him.

This episode was heartbreaking for me, even more than the prison break episode where Shayla is killed.

There are a few different styles of show-related T-shirts for sale on USA's website, but not much else. I'd love to have one of those Mr. Robot jackets like Slater wears in the show.
