MOVIES that never were...

Why is everyone thinking in those stoopid business ways lately?

Probably because of all those folks in the abrams forum who now define the word 'good' by citing 375 million gross or whatever the hell it is.

is there something wrong with having cute sexy girls in a star trek movie? I hope not.

No, there is nothing wrong with that at all. Star Trek aka TOS, had sexy girls/women in almost every episode.

And that just shows how dumb the unwashed masses really are!

In that case, I'm very proud to be both dumb and unwashed.

I was also told I was dumb for loving ST:TMP in 1980, many times, by people who'd been TOS fans since the beginning.

And [drum roll] ...you still are! [cymbal crash] *grin* (just for the record, I am kidding as I was okay with Where Nomad Has Gone Before, other than the repetitive setup/theme, but still feel the director's cut is world's above the original time pressed release)

Roddenberry's recurring favorite: for some reason, the Enterprise crew travels back in time to prevent the assassination of JFK; naturally, in order for the timeline to remain uncontaminated, they end up having to cause his death instead. The script at one point features Spock on the grassy knoll, firing the magic bullet.

Roddenbery pitched this idea several times.

Of course, a gun using 23rd century science could fire a bullet whose actions were indistinguishable from magic. One shot could do all the damage. Damn if I don't have a new conspiracy theory!
