Most terrible character in DS9?

For characters that annoy me, I would say Jadzia for bringing up Dax’s former hosts too much. It makes her into an annoying knowitall. Ezria being unsure about everything make Dax work so much better.

She reminded me of those vile government officials in "The Outcast". And like them, she got what she wanted. Though at least she was caught and punished.
That's true!
I never thougt about it before but there are some similarities.

She reminded me of Janeway at her most obsessive.
Janeway isn't even close to Alixus.
I think that Janeway was OK in seasons 1-3.
She was ruined in later seasons but that's another story.

Jadzia was ok initially (except maybe for not rejecting Bashir clearly enough). But she annoyed me when when she began being too much of a Klingon fangirl.

As for Janeway, I have mixed feelings about her. Especially in later seasons, but, even as early as "The Swarm", she was willing to bend the rules, but she sometimes gave disproportionately big punishments for some things (especially "Thirty Days" and "Disease". These are two episodes that hurt Janeway most for me).

I just figured it was because she had been a young man on multiple occasions.

"The Disease", especially. All Harry would have to do upon returning to the Alpha Quadrant was go to the Doctor, get him to explain to Starfleet medical that Harry's actions occured when he was under alien influence... that reprimand would be purged from his record, easy as pie.

Jadzia admiring Klingon culture makes perfect sense because as a Trill, she is trying to maximize her life experiences for the symbiote. Klingons truly embody living life to the absolute fullest in everything they do.

I didn't mention this before, but now that I think about it, Brunt's pretty terrible. I mean that in a "good" way.

I am curious about the origin of the Trill joining... how long ago did they start? And why? Did someone just one day go, "Look at those creatures in the caves... I'll bet I can fit one inside my belly"?

It seems like an evolved ability between them, since the symbiote connects, literally, with... something inside the host. Plus, the host and symbiote have a natural hormone (isoboromine, I think it was called) that seems to regulate the bond between them.

There's a DS9 novella that not only goes into this but discusses how the Trill symbiotes are related to the "Conspiracy" parasites, if you're interested.

Reminds me of a remark I heard about escargot... when, exactly, did someone see a snail crawling along, and decide, "you know, I think I'll eat that."

Kai Winn was certainly awful. Cut from the same cloth as Alixus.
She was very selfish. It was all about her and her political ambitions.

However, she looks like a dead ringer to a woman on my mother's side of the family.
But that woman was actually nice and friendly but a little bit weird too. :)

Was her name Louise Fletcher? ;)

I'm generally seen as a bit weird, do I don't hold that against people. Conniving, back stabbing, self righteous, judgmental, and power-hungry... that's another story.
