Most Powerful TNG Moments

Ben Maxwell & O'Brien singing together. In fact, the scene O'Brien has in 10-Foward with the Cardie is pretty gripping too. Picard's warning to Gul Macet at the end as well

Pretty much all of Picard's Cardassian torture, my favorite being when he rejoices in picturing the broken little Cardassian boy in place of the powerful tormentor

Data driving an icicle into Kila Marr's heart at the end of Silicon Avatar. She looked like she might slit her wrists. Equally as chillingly heartless is his final moment with Kivas Fajo. Speaking of chill inducing. Picard dressing down Riker like never before, in The Pegasus

& of course... just about any scene with Mark Lenard

Sela telling her backstory to Picard in Redemption II.
When she discusses turning in her mother to the authorities, Denise does a great job of rolling through the various emotions.
Of course Picard's nonchalant "Oh, that 's nice - doesn't change anything" bit at the end always makes me chuckle.

All great moments from that episode for me. But one that gets overlooked? Is when Picard orders Maxwell to bring the Phoenix back to Federation space, or the Enterprise will tow it back in disgrace.

There is a lot of small but powerful moments in 'The Defector,' but the end always gets me:

[Admiral Jarok has committed suicide]
Commander William T. Riker: [handing a data PADD to Picard] "A letter to his wife and daughter."
Lt. Commander Data: "Sir, he must have known it would be impossible for us to deliver it."
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "Today, perhaps. But if there are others with the courage of Admiral Jarok, we may hope to see a day of peace when... we can take his letter home."

I just finished a re-watch of 'The Inner Light', and I had forgotten how powerful this episode was....I mean how incredibly engrossing and emotionally charged it was. The scene at the end where Picard finally realizes what has happened is nothing short of magical.

This makes me think of the other, very strong and powerful TNG moments. Here are some of mine:

1. The courtroom scenes in 'The Measure of a Man'.
2. The scenes between Picard and Nuria in 'Who Watches the Watchers'.
3. The climax of 'Yesterday's Enterprise' as the Enterprise-C re-enters the temporal rift.
4. The scene with Picard and Crusher after he has mind-melded with Sarek in 'Sarek'.
5. The climax of 'The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1', where Picard reveals himself to be Locutus of Borg.
6. The scene between Picard and his brother Robert as they fought in the vineyard and Picard finally breaking down about his experience with the Borg.
7. The scene between Picard and Wesley Crusher as Picard is carried out on a stretcher in 'Final Mission'.
8. The interaction between Picard and Admiral Satie towards the end of 'The Drumhead'.
9. Worf's departure from the Enterprise at the end of 'Redemption, Part 1'.
10. The entire episode of 'Darmok'.
11. The scene where Picard visits Sarek before leaving for Romulus in 'Unification, Part 1'.
12. The scene where Soren stands accused of identifying with a gender in 'The Outcast'.
13. The torture of Picard in 'Chain of Command, Part 2'.
14. The final defection of Ro Laren in 'Preemptive Strike'.
15. The very final scene of 'All Good Things' when Picard says 'I should have done this a long time ago..'

There are probably many others, but this list is what sticks with me.
That is a pretty good list, I'd agree!

Generally speaking, when Data goes through a crisis. Be it of multiple personalities or when he sires an offspring or when he becomes a sadistic monster (like in that episodes where he tortures Geordi) Or when he takes command of a ship in a hostile situation or when he has sex or when he hijacks the Enterprise... to name a few.

Worf killing Duras. Data almost killing Kivas Fajo, & then sweeping it under the rug with Riker. Data's final moments with Lal.

Worf refusing to be a ribosome donor to a Romulan "Then he will die". Stick that in your stethoscope & smoke it.

Picard calling Worf a coward

I'll try not to repeat any of the brilliant examples mentioned already. But how about David Ogden Stires character being chewed out by his daughter (Michelle Forbes) for not giving up his life in "Half a Life."
Also, Lwaxana reliving the death of her first daughter in "Dark Page."

I find this interesting since I generally do not like the character of Lwaxana, or her episodes.

Darmok is my favorite Episode, of all the iterations...even "City...".

("HIjol at Bashi")
Wow yes, especially when picard finally understands Dathon, and the quiet campfire scene where they are telling stories to each other. A much better campfire scene than the manufactured "family" crap from STV.

In The Bonding, I have always liked the emotions showed by Beverly and Wesley when he asks her if she thinks of Jack sometimes. Mother and son grieving over the loss of a husband and father. A nice simple touching scene.
I think it was in Family, when Wesley watches the holographic message his father left for him. You can tell it moves him emotionally. Then he reaches out for Jack and the hologram disappears. That one got to me.

The scene at the end of the Best of Both Worlds where Picard goes to take a sip of tea and then just stares out the ready room window was powerful without dialogue. Things weren't fine. Picard was emotionally damaged and the show would have benefited from drawing that out a little bit longer instead of the quick resolution in Family. They attempted to revisit this with his performance in First Contact but I think Descent was damaging to that attempt.
