Spock is number 1 everyone know that. Chekov surpised me on how smart he was in the film, considering his young age of 17 he must have been a genius prodigy.

Cupcake was still smarter than engineer Olsen who died being an idiot. I mean seriously, he has the charges yet he gets distracted by the orbital skydive that he opens his shoot way to late and thus wins a Darwin Award due to death via vaporization.
Aww, Chekov is not Wesley Crusher. He's a Starfleet officer, and not a child who gets to be ensign out of nothing. Besides, no-one was bowing to his genius, he just knew how to do some things... but he didn't manage to save Spock's mum.
I'd imagine that Starfleet officers in general would have to be exceptionally intelligent. Experts in multiple ship-systems. Even McCoy has bridge training; he was stationed at the helm during the Kobyashi Maru test.
Everyone seemed to be pretty smart, apart from Olsen. Oh, and Cupcake.
Kirk was a genius as Pike said from his score's not to mention thinking fast on his feet
