Most Anticipated 2011 Films

Green Hornet
Green Lantern
Thor
Rise of the Apes
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

And, to a lesser degree, Captain America.

Shaping up to be "Year of the Superhero" for me.

Transformers 3
Sherlock Holmes 2
The Green Hornet
Green Lantern
Captain America
X-Men First Class
The Hangover Part II
Cowboys & Aliens
Super 8
Thor

As a nice piece of nostalgia for me personally, I'm super pumped for Scream 4. Love me some Neve Campbell.

10th June - Super 8. Directed by JJ Abrams. It will take place in 1979 and it will be a homage/tribute to Spielberg's '70s and '80s science fiction films with a mystery and supernatural feel from Abrams.

My birthday is June 11th 1979, coensidence, nope.

Going in order from BOM's release schedule to date:
Green Hornet - January
Scream 4 - April
Fast Five - April
Thor - May
Pirates 4 - May
X-Men:FC - June
Green Lantern - June
Captain America - July
Cowboys & Aliens - July
Paranormal Acitivity 3 - October
Mission Impossible 4 - December
Sherlock Holmes 2 - December

That's roughly $132 for films I WILL see in 2011.

Might see but not a 'hotly anticipated' film:
Red Riding Hood- March
Sucker Punch- March
Your Highness- April
Hangover 2 - May
Super 8 - June
Transformers 3 - July cause after ROTF my enthusiasm took a hit
Conan - August
Twilight: Breaking Dawn - November

It's $88 for films I MIGHT see, realistically half of them I'll get to.

The only ones that aren't an F/X visual heavy film is Hangover and Your Highness. I typically alllow a few guilty pleasures but otherwise most comedies I wait for DVD. Then there are sure to be a few Independent films that crop up that lure me in so those "maybe's" will get tossed for one of these.

I'll spend just over $200 next year at the theater on tickets, which for me is up from the last two years. I'll keep sneaking in my own candy/soda when I can but sometimes you can't so I'll likely spend another $40-50 in concessions. Not a bad part of my yearly budget all things considered.

Luckily there is a theater here that has $1 ticket sales on Wednesday. It's where I see a lot of things if I'm not waiting for the DVD.
