Most annoying regular character

Presumably the decision was a combination of knowing that her true nature as a Cardassian would be discovered eventually (although you'd think that Voyager's transporters would have identified such a thing when everyone beamed from the raider in Caretaker) and make things extremely uncomfortable amongst a Maquis/Starfleet crew, and thinking that her reasonably intimate knowledge of the prize so badly sought by the Kazon would provide her with a high standard of living in the Delta Quadrant.

Going by series...

TOS - It's been over a decade since I got a chance to (re)view extensively, so I can't comment.
TNG - Deanna. 5 seasons of stating the obvious. (Klingon commander barks at the screen, noting how he would like to rip out 3-5 throats and a warp core or two. Deanna: "Captain, I am sensing...hostility")
DS9 - Jake Sisko. Had the tendency to turn Star Trek into Family Matters, especially with young Nog (and I say that as a fan of both these shows.)
VOY - Kes. I don't react well to super-gifted super-innocent sugarcoats.
ENT - TATV... I mean Mayweather. More like May-Who-ther?

Well, let's see...
(1) Neelix, natch, but for me, honest to God, Riker is as bad and possibly worse, if only because he wasn't supposed to be annyoying. To this day, I cannot bear to watch most of the Riker-centric episodes. And besides, although annoying, Neelix was at least distinctive, whereas Riker was a generic Space Patrol-style hero.
(2) Wesley.
And I know this is pure heresy, but (3) is McCoy. He had his moments, but they were few and far between.

Yeah, I'm glad to see there's at least one vote for Troi. Even with so many to choose from, she always wins with me.

I'm not saying she didn't have a lot of fine moments, but when she's annoying-- which is often-- she's skin-crawlingly annoying. The whole premise of her presence on the ship just got on my nerves. If I'd once seen her swabbing a deck, maybe I could have taken her seriously. MAYBE.

In her cheerleader suit?

I always saw Wesley as having two automatic strikes against him, even before actually doing anything. He was a teenage male, and he was a Know-It-All. For those reasons, I always cut him some slack - I was there once, after all.

Actually, reminds me of a funny story. I am a major enthusiast of table-top role-playing games (Dungeons & Dragons, Traveller, 7th Sea, etc.). At a gaming convention many years back somebody ran several sessions of a Star Trek role-play, with all of the Characters being lifted directly from TNG.

Unfortunately for the person running this event, absolutely none of the groups who signed up were interested in the planned scenario. Every session was a 'Let's-All-Kill-Wesley' fest right from the start. Incarnations of Mr Crusher were blasted out torpedo tubes, met horrific transporter accidents, burned alive in warp-core "malfunctions", electrocuted by sabotaged consoles, subjected to medical experimentation, trapped in Holodeck scenarios with ALL safeties removed, etc., etc., etc.. Those unfortunates who randomly drew the Wesley character for play never had a chance.

The longest surviving "Wesley" got as far as hot-wiring a Shuttle for escape - before "Worf" got him.

The person who organized and ran this event was seriously freaked out, from all accounts, though I understand it is untrue that he was found crying and curled in a fetal position, on the last day of the convention.

Nobody on Star Trek is annoying...it's the real people in my life that are annoying!

I think Troi dates and suffers in hindsight with the '80's obsession with the validity of counseling...

Still, making the decision based on looks and you keep Wang and drop Jennifer Lien!?

What kind of fucked up logic is that?

One of the things that irks me the most about him.

But Janeway takes most obnoxious for me. She wasn't all bad, but when she was she brought her A-game. Plus, I just can't respect such a ridiculously Mary Sue captain.

Neelix I couldn't wait to see off the ship in the earlier show, but after season 5-6 he had a massive turnaround. I'm also curious if most of his haters in this topic have generally only seen him in the earlier seasons and are judging him on that.

Beverlump. OMG she was awful. Terrible writing, and acting to match. Not a believable doctor. About as sharp as a tennis ball.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I loved Beverly, it was a pleasure to watch her onscreen.

There's a lot of Neelix haters, but the fact is episodes that centered around him tended to be very good, interesting and meaningful and Phillips was the best actor in the cast.

The most annoying character for me was probably...Riker, I just didn't like him and he wasn't a very good actor. Bashir also annoyed the hell out of me any time Siddig tried and failed miserably to express emotion.

EDIT - Oh god, I forgot Jake Sisko. He is by far the most annoying character in Trek for me. He's so bad, I seem to have blocked him from my memory. Oh and Captain Sisko of course, his special brand of "acting" was not my cup of tea at all.

I seem to like characters others find annoying, like Neelix and Jake-o. My pet peeve definitely Crusher Snr.

Nog, no question about it. Arrogant, snotty, way too gung ho......Jake was so much more likable.

I'll agree that in the beginning Nog was extremely irritating, but I think that as time went on, specifically after he joined Starfleet, he became much more enjoyable. I even started to enjoy seeing his name in the cast.

As far as Jake goes, I can't understand people liking him or disliking him one way or the other. He's just there. I have no opinion of him.

Nog certainly got a few good moments. Many of the other characters listed in this thread either didn't, or the moments didn't fit their character.

Oh, and the traveller was much much more annoying than Wesley... Or his mum.
