Based on the novel of the same name by Phillip Reeve, Mortal Engines is produced by Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson, and directed by Jackson's long time friend and collaborator Christian Rivers. Jackson also co-wrote the scrip with regular co-writers Fran Walsh and Phillipa Boyens.
