Hopefully, I can get it all printed out over the long weekend.

Thanks guys. :)

I've got part of the top printed, and should have the top part done tonight. I'll come back with more pictures. It's massive, already!

Spacedock is printed! I won't be assembling or painting this one, but I had to tape it together to see how it would look.

It came out just about perfect. Getting it ready to go to Texas now. :)

I'll get some better photos with my good camera later today. :)

And better pictures, along with the blurb from Facebook...

This Spacedock / Starbase was a custom request from a Trek club in Texas.

Printed in about 42 hours on my Flashforge and CTC Printers, about 16 parts, the final measurements came out at 14 inches tall, and the dish is 11 inches wide.

The seams have pretty big gaps in the photos, becuse it's all just stuck together with mounting tape right now; once they get it glued together, everything will fit nice and flush.

Have fun, guys. :)

For something like that ISD, are you printing them hollow?

Not like a regular model, but they are mostly hollow anyway. :) I like to use a 10% infill on the inside, which works for most things. If it needs to be stronger, I usually use 25%.

This is what it looks like inside:

So, if you were to want to light it or something, you would have to cut out some of the internal structure.

Thanks guys. :)

Yep, this thing would weigh 5 or 6 pounds if it was solid! I bet it weights about 1 pound as it is now.

Progress on the 18 inch "Solid Gold" Enterprise, finally!
I was having trouble getting the surface smooth for the gold paint, and discovered PlastiDip. It's a rubberized coating, that made a nice smooth surface for me to paint on. This is the result, after 2-3 coats of Gold Rustoleum, on top of Black PlastiDip.

Needs a little bit of cleanup and touchup, but I think it turned out OK. I've got a little bit of warping on the nacelle pylons, but I did the nacelles lined up at least. The 4 sections fit together well, and still come apart easily, so I can ship it to Ireland. :D
