Moore is less

Difference being that the Cylons and Wraith were integral parts of those shows and actually created by the showrunners, the TCW was just UPN mandated nonsense.

Ron Moore didn't create the Cylons!
Of course not. Daniel Graystone did. ;)

Seriously, the Cylons from the old BSG and the Cylons from the new BSG are completely different in almost every aspect - origin, development, background, motivations - that we can say that those are two completely different fictional races.

You see I've never understood why the suites never learn this lesson.

When they interfere with the creative process shows go to crap.
Not always. Unlimited creative control without oversight is nearly as dangerous as "suit" control. Few people have the self-discipline to realistically evaluate their own work on its objective merits--for the most egregious example, George Lucas was simply incapable of producing good Star Wars films, precisely because he had full creative control and surrounded himself with people who not only had no veto power but would not even offer their opinions (or maybe didn't even have any).

For a more grounded case, Ron Moore himself (with Eicke) had enough creative control of Battlestar Galactica to make the worst last episode of any series in the history of television.

Besides, corporations have an obligation to their shareholders first, and to the art and audiences (who nonetheless lapped up Voyager's pablum) second.

Even though I liked the show, I still haven't seen the last episode because I feared it would be as you described it.

Overall I liked Moore's ideas on DS9 and I am enjoying "Caprica" , more so than BSG.

I don't really think that I'd be happy with him doing another Trek series, though. For one thing, I am sick of long term arcs on TV shows (surprising, I know, for a big fan of "Lost" and "24").

Really, the only way to know is to watch it. I loved it, and thought it was brilliant. If you liked BSG up to that point and are enjoying Caprica (of all things!), then I can't imagine anything about the finale will seem egregiously out of step with the rest of it.

While Daybreak is not my favourite series finale, it is by no means television's worst. That would have to be TATV.

Daybreak is decent entertainment with a bitchin sweet battle sequence. The whole Earth thing is where the episode loses points, but that can be overlooked.
