Moonlight and Jericho update...

Here's an update on both shows who were cancelled by CBS and are trying to find a new home. Sadly for MOONLIGHT fans, I am not the bearer of good news as...

Warner Bros. inquired with other outlets about their interest in the show, though none decided to acquire the show.

That was pretty fast, looks like they were not even ready to talk much about any such deal and the show look quite dead.

With the series finale done the show averaged 7.47 million for season 1

However the news on the JERICHO front is a little better though no official deal has been done but this letter to the fans...

I just wanted to let you know that things are most definitely moving still. I got an email from Karim today stating that they have some important Jericho meetings coming up in the next two weeks. While he'd love to say more, he really can't elaborate, but I thought everyone would like to know that meetings are still taking place. I think that is very good thing.

Very good news that the talks are still going and from what I've picked up they have progressed quite well but like I said at the beginning of month by May 31st/June 1st we should find out the ultimate fate of JERICHO

With the writers strike and lack of pilots I'm surprised both wouldn't be potentials for slightly retooling and promoting.
Moonlight had small drop offs from Ghost Whisperer and was a weak point of contention for being dropped. Word is they didn't want to pay more for it for a second season.

Maybe Jericho will get picked up for a limited season 3 run (along the lines of season 2) if they can strike a deal with DirecTV or something like that, in order to make the cost substantially cheaper for CBS. Otherwise, I think it's dead.

I never saw Moonlight, but I am a fan of Jericho.

Hope they are able to bring it back (again)...but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah I dont have much hope for Moonlight's return. Its hard to have hope when even the studio who makes the show doesn't care to keep it alive.

I would agree if it weren't for the fact that these threads are started "every few weeks".

I'm hoping and waiting. I would love additional seasons, though I am very happy with the current series finale. We will see.

You don't have to partake in the thread if it makes you feel better. Theres been nothing but quiet for the last few weeks and I think the moonlight news is worth reporting since it means the show is truly over.

Karem Zreik has made another pretty promising statement:

"...talks are still going and the Jericho folks are happy."

Hope we hear something definite within a week or two.

Well I'm certainly interested in Jericho news, so keep it coming!

Too bad (for Jericho) Esai Morales has the lead on Caprica, but that's just a backdoor pilot and by the time that ramps up for production on the series, the Jericho storyline could have Beck dying heroically for the cause.
