Modern Warfare2 General Thread

I think I unlocked the holo sight for my M16 last night. I put it on and couldn't really see a difference. Guess I need to be a little more patient with it.

That is an interesting find about the M16+Holo. I wonder how the iron sights test against RDS and Holo.

I am a bit skeptical still though, I'll need to test it myself and make sure those aren't just a few flyer rounds that are some sort of random factor. The burst patterns are not that much different.

I have a question for anyone who knows. What exactly is the difference between the red dot sight and the holographic sight? What's the advantage of one over the other?

Were you in my last lobby last night? I signed out Right after answering this question for somebody....

So I decided to go cold turkey on MW2 until June :( I have no self control and need to study for an exam. But I shall live vicariously through your heroic online MW2 adventures.

Another one of my high improbability friendly fires to regale you with. During one of my stinker rounds (where it seems no matter what you do, you can't get the kills in because an enemy teammate guns you down before you get your target etc.) on Karachi, our team is rounding the corner on the building at the bus and diner end (specifically the side with the balcony over the entrance).

Now, I was pretty sure we had seen some enemies retreat in that direction when we were 'following' them, so before we rounded the corner, I cooked a frag for a few seconds and tried to throw it over the building. It seemed to dissappear, so I carried on. We turn the corner, and suddenly I hear a *dink, dink* from above, and suddenly my frag grenade nuts a teammate in the head and kills him with an impact (same symbol as killed by a kinetic underslung grenade shot) kill. Grrrrr!

Holographic makes the M16 more accurate:

There maybe more of these random things kicking around that I'm not aware of.
That youtube link was helpful, and it also linked to something else helpful that cleared up some bad assumptions I made :techman:

As for other random things like the holo sights, well I think most people know that they didn't properly nerf the akimbo 1887 if you go bling akimbo/fmj.. uhh I thought I heard something weird about the Ak47 being better somehow similar to the M16 thing, but with iron sights... but googling revealed no sources

FS2000. What a gun. 3 rounds and I had the tubes and the red dot sight for it. Just don't hold the trigger in too long-treat it like the UMP with range.

yeah lot of people just hold down the trigger, when in reality you need to pop shot it.

Mp5 is a gun I've never been able to get to work.

Well after playing this for several weeks on and off now, and after reaching level whatever (Lt Col) I've discovered that I'm pretty much worthless in this game with everything except the SPAS shotgun, and even then maps like Underpass eat my lunch. :(

Been working on achievements today doing some missions on Veteran, which is like having a drill shoved up your ass...PAINFUL. Decided I will do what I can on that and do rest on Hardened so I can get the Price of War achievement. I love how I have

Aside from a few frustrating moments on a couple of the Spec-Ops missions, I didn't find getting the 1000G all that difficult.

Yeah, other than the fact that there's no co-op matchmaking (so I had to track down people to play Spec Ops with), the achievements were actually fair in this game. I vaguely remember the ones in WAW... one of them was like "kill 7 targets with 5 bullets" or something ridiculous like that.

Doing the pit in under 30 seconds takes practice, but is also MUCH easier than the obstacle course in CoD4. I went with two hand guns - you can't reload, you can't miss - you should be able to finish it fast enough with high enough accuracy (100+%) to get time bonuses.

That one was easy. You could get it on the "Enemy at the Gates" homage at the beginning of "Vendetta."

There were other ones as well, which were very specific to certain situations... and the game just wasn't interesting enough for me to want to go through it to do these weird things.

I even liked the on rails airplane level... but there was something about shooting all the deck lights or something? I just didn't want to go back to do that.

Got 2 more today, shooting 10 people in a row with Akimbo (double) weps and completing the game on Hardened or Veteran. Currently on 25 or 26 spec ops stars so will probably aim for the 30 stars achievement and the first intel achievement (22) only for like 8 so far always forget to look for em.

After that I will probably call it a quit with the achievements and just play game for multiplayer.

Well I appreciate the fact that the guy making the video was explaining how bad of an exploit it is rather than gloating over how he "pwnd" everybody. And he's probably right, everybody who sees this video will probably try this now. Hell I've even given up and said if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and now I'm using the "noob tube" more than ever.

I take it when you do OMA, it automatically reloads your ammo with each kit swap.

Yes sir. Forgot to mention you should have danger close pro as your killstreaks are even more powerful. And the biggest thing about OMA which the idiots on the comments section don't get is that you can just hang back and don't need to find ammo for your noob tube, unlike scavenger.

Well this guy (WOR) is a beast of a player. He got a nuke with a riot shield and C4. So he doesn't really need to brag like others.
