Played som COD4:MW multiplayer yesterday...
Up to level 4, not too bad...

Man I don't know what the deal was yesterday, (a lot of Xmas noobs perhaps?) but I actually had a pretty decent day. It was like somebody took over my controller. It's days lke that, that keep me coming back to this game.
One of things they've changed about this game is a small thing but I really like is the fact that when you earn a killstreak reward, it doesn't go away just because you earned the next killstreak reward. I'd earned a predator missile and then before I got to launch it, I'd earned a helicopter. Launched the helicopter, eventually died, and lo and behold I still had the predator missile to use. Nice touch IMHO.

Since I die when launching predators more often than not this is a great touch, I agree. Went hunting Xmas Noobs Sat/Sun. raised from Lvl 40 to 55. LOL!
Got the game on Christmas Day and a few hours ago I finished it with mixed feelings. Its pretty much the same length as COD 4 and despite some really cool moments (especially the later missions) I felt that COD 4 MW was better for terms of story and wow factor. The plot was a mess so it could be epic and throw everything including the kitchen sink though I did love that last mission and how you kill sheppard (I caught the guy right smack in the face) to which I remarked "In your face literally" 
I felt the earlier missions were structed a little off compared to MW though nice to see the AI spawn line gone mostly, I don't buy them saying its gone entirely. Also AI team mates covering your ass is hit n miss to be nice but the biggest problem was the plot had more left to extend it but IW decided to save it for WW3 type plot in MW3.
going to try spec ops co-op mode soon and online play but unsure about online as it seems its less about gun to gun these days and moe about some guy killing you from other side of map with a missile or gunship...I prefer something more old school
ps - Love the museum bit at end guy with RPG literally skimmed my face and then I hit the 2nd rocket with a bullet as it took off blew up right in front of him wish I had that filmed 1 in a million fluke

Okay, as of now, the FAMAS is officially my best gun. I started off with it and did decently, but then tried to the M4A1 for a while, and I just got my ass handed to me every match. So I switched back to the FAMAS, and my scoring has improved dramatically. I don't know if it's the increased accuracy or the three-round burst, but I do so much better with it. Just got done with my best game yet, 22-6 K/D (I know, not great, but compared to 99% of my other scores it is) and I ended the game on a Predator triple kill followed by a Harrier air strike that won the match for my team. Good times. 
My overall K/D ratio could still do with some improvement, though. Playing Capture The Flag for a while really screwed it up.

Lately I've been doing a lot of hardcore deathmatch. In some ways I like it more... weapons are more deadly, no fulltime maphack super-radar... but man, does it attract campers. You'd think the campers would prefer the modes with lots of people running around so they can get the drop on them. I actually switched to hardcore after playing a round where I had 5 kills, 18 assists, and 10 deaths. I needed something where people wouldn't survive 6 bullets to the chest and neck.
For hardcore I've been doing ACR bling silenced ACOG (never really used ACOG before), cold-blooded pro, ninja pro and it felt pretty damned powerful. Went 29-8 last round with 2 of the deaths being ridiculous teamkills. Chopper gunner was interesting... with the friendly fire on I assume that I can in fact teamkill with chopper gunner... then the other team was almost all cold-blooded, so it took some real effort to find targets, but I still got a decent amount.
I tried it some last night but didn't have much luck with it. But I probably didn't give it a fair test, I was playing a match in Terminal where some idiot was spamming the noob tube and it was getting a little frustrating, so I clearly wasn't playing my best game.
I like to experiment with different weapon sets but man it seems like every time I stray from my base infantry set, I stink up the joint.
I think it is because you need to change your game style. I found SMG/shotguns, you have to be more aggresive. And you NEED a silencer b/c the aim on those things (SMG) are garbage. Whereas a LMG, is more defensive and you have to aim with short bursts.
I'm loving the Christmas Noobs BTW. I got my pavelow twice in a game. It would be a great time to try to gun for the Nuke again.
I did find I'm really getting addicted to the game where all I want to do is play. I had friends come over, etc and all I wanted to do is just jump in on the Xbox. So I'm going to try a self imposed ban this week. I can still watch youtube videos but I will try not to play a game until Sunday.
Well there's so many variables, maps, weapons set, skill of the other players, etc. It's just hard to know when you've got a good weapon. Last night, I kept wondering "Ok is this FAMAS so much worse than the M4 or are these guys just that much better than the guys that I played on Sunday?"
Yeah I don't know what the deal was last night, but I couldn't seem to find them. Last night was like 180 degrees from where I played on Sunday. Perhaps I was too overconfident after having a good day on Sunday. (Of course I had an incident or two last night that made me go
a time or two. Like coming around a corner, hitting a guy with a full blast in the face from my SPAS and him shaking it off and proceeding to kill me. I'm going to presume it was a lag issue, but when I see stuff like that, I get suspicious.)You know another thing you have to watch out for is getting frustrated and flustered. That was also contributing to my bad night light. You get all hacked off, and then you start getting reckless and stupid, and then promptly killed, which just makes the anger and frustration build. Rinse, and repeat.
The "noob tubers" were driving me crazy last night. Not sure what the deal was, but they were out in full force. Got admit, they were effective. It's part of the game, so I just have to learn to deal with it, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they never put another grenade launcher in this game ever again.

I'll admit that I've been spamming the noob tube a lot the last couple of days, but that was mainly to complete the Challenge for it. Not that I'm all that interested in the shotgun attachment.

I have a specific class set up with scavenger, grenade launcher, RPGs and of course the Danger Close perk. The kill radius on my explosives with that set up is ridiculous. And on certain maps and game types it is extremely good. Double and triple kills abound.
But equipping blast shield largely nullifies explosives, I'm not sure why more people don't use it.

You lose a special grenade and when wearing it, you lose the radar. It'd be helpful against all the air support, but by the time you unlock it, you already have a way to deal with that stuff anyway.

Well just so I'm not misunderstood, it's not that I never use it, and I don't mind it when it's used for a specific tatical reason (such as taking out a well placed camper). And I'll break it out against riot shielders.
But to me, when somone is just running around using it as their ONLY weapon, then it gets annoying. BUT as I said before, it's there, it's a legitimate part of the game. I'm not calling it cheap or anything like that. Just annoying.
Gave it another try last night, I'm definitely warming up to it.
Okay, I sucked at sniping when I had only the Intervention, but now that I have the Barrett .50 cal, I'm kicking ass. I destroyed everyone on the opposing team on Afghan (a sniper's dream) and my K/D ratio has gone up .10 in one night (which is really good for me, in my first couple of days my K/D ratio was horrible).
