Modern Warfare2 General Thread

I think it's because of the Giantbomb podcast, but it feels like that a turn is also likely because of what happens in the third act.

But who knows. :p

For those having problems with multi player, Just go on youtube and watch some players play. You'll find they are very defensive players.

Just youtube: seananners, Xcailorz, christrout91, Hutch.. etc..

These guys dominate, but you'll notice some tricks (ie get a head set for FFA), don't run, use cover effectively and how to stack your kill streak perks up.

LMAO-Hutch is one of my friends. Didn't know he posted vids, though.

One of things I've seen a lot that I know works, but just drives me up the wall is the "Halo Jumping" BS. Look I know this is a game and it's not realistic. Certainly soldiers don't automatically heal themselves or respawn after dying. So it's not going to be like real life. I get that.

But to have all these guys hopping around like a kangaroo is just ridiculous, IMHO. You're not going to see someone standing in front of you shooting at you all while jumping up and down repeatedly. It's just stupid.

No way.. My greatest fear is seeing one of their videos with them p0wning my sorry ass. But yeah his videos keep me entertained at work. I swear I sit there with those videos running while I work on my spreadsheet.

 not to mention that all that gear weighs close to 60 pounds

It's funny, because with the lightweight and marathon perks, you can basically run forever and race through levels. :p

I'll have to watch a few-see if I'm in any in a support role.

Yeah that's kind of silly too. Makes me think that they should have factored fatigue into the character models. But that's just coming from someone who's frustrated. If I were "pwn'ing" I would probably feel different.

On that note, I finally started making baby steps last night at improving. A couple of games were 50/50 on k/d (11/11 and 14/14 IIRC) and I even had one round of 5/3 which gave me a small glimmer of hope.

I think it's a testament to just how good this game is that I can so totally suck at it and get destroyed game in and game out, but yet I still totally love the game.

Anybody play any COD Classic? I hopped on for some deathmatch last night. Lots of nostalgia. I guess in retrospect some of it was kind of silly, especially the medium range 'dancing' matches as we try to shoot each other with Kar98ks. I kind of miss the more barren landscapes where I can actually consistently see other players if they're on my screen. I do kind of miss the sprint button from United Offensive. I don't really miss the little maphack map... there's something nice about listening for gunfire and then running toward it.

Holy mother of god!

I just got this game today and decided to play a few missions to see how it's like.. about 8 hours later (including meals and bathroom breaks) my left wrist hurts and i'm done.

What an awesome game.. it grips you from the first mission and ramps it up with each new one. Technically very well done (i love the save feature... without it i'd have thrown this game to the curb) and the insane mission design.

Definitely one of the best action shooters out there.. and definitely better and far more engaging than Operation Flashpoint 2 which i finished last week.

I am playing single player, and love this game. Probably the best game to ever grace the Xbox. I shriek like a little girl as I go from Drone control, to shooting, to missle launching to blowing up buildings to resucing hostages to shooting from helicopters.

I LOVE IT!

I love how you're not farting around with med packs and ammo, or stupid save points that take you back 10 minutes. It's just play, play play. FUN FUN FUN!

Oh man I'm on a gaming high right now.

If you do decide to embark on MP and have nerd rage. Please don't film yourself and do something stupid like this on youtube.

Don't play on Veteran. You'll swear a lot.

I 1000'ed the game by finishing off Wetworks spec ops. What a bitch of a mission. I had to do it twice because the first time we shot a hostage right at the end.

^This was a very easy game to 1000 off. Especially compared to the first Modern Warfare. Veteran difficulty just isn't that hard.

Oh yeah, if I can do it, anyone can really. Still, the spec-ops missions can be rough. I've only been able to do a couple within the recommended time.

Breach and Clear is funny though. Just spam flash grenades and run as fast as you can.
My partner died after I jumped into the hole, but he managed to crawl to the whole and it still counted. Good times.

the bridge level is the samething too.

We ended up doing the same thing. spam flashes, get a riot shield, make a break for the hole in the floor. It worked surprisingly well.

We definitely ended up doing the cheap method on the mission where you have to kill ten juggernauts with explosives. We camped a room, had one guy knife all the juggernauts to death while the other one constantly revived him as he got knocked down.

Took awhile, but we won.
