I know the US regularly gets sales on the subscription cards, so it's probably a good time to pick one up during the holiday wackiness. But yeah, it's kind of tough to spend what amounts to a full game on subscription.

I'm actually surprised by the relative ease of this game. I finished the game on Veteran difficulty in a few days. Normally, Call of Duty games take me a couple weeks to finish on Veteran, because they're so damn hard, and you sometimes need a lucky break to get past certain parts. Not this time though.
I've been playing through Spec Ops with my roomie, and those are some fun missions. We've been burning through them pretty fast though. Only six missions left. Hopefully they release some more via DLC, though I won't hold my breath.

Just ordered 4 3-month cards from Ebay. Total price = 6 British Pounds(about $10 American).
Didn't buy it. Won't buy it. Canceled my pre-order.
Two reasons: One, no dedicated servers. Screw that.
Two, the airport massacre. What the HELL were those people thinking? That is appalling, and I'm disgusted that they would think it's a good level for the game. Don't bother telling me "it's just a game" or "it's optional." It's the very IDEA that anyone would think it is a good idea disgusts me.

I've been having this debate with someone and while the game turns into a lot of bullshit by the end, I still think the airport scene is very important.
I do think it's a cop-out that it was set in a Russian airport. As far as I know, other than the "VIP" who is never mentioned again, there is not one dead American civilian shown in the game - despite the plot/setting.

Yeah, lots of shady stuff out there with Live cards and points cards. I try to get the 12+1 month cards when Amazon or Target have them for $30... 1600 ms points used to show up fairly often for $15 but I haven't seen that in forever. Stupid me bought only like $100 worth of them last time around thinking it would last me a while! Who am I kidding, that's like a month of Rock Band DLC 
Anyway, as for MW2... I figure I'm probably about halfway through the campaign... played a bit online, kill ratio is under 1.00, which sucks because I used to dominate COD4 matches. I guess it's been a long time. I for the life of me can't find a gun that performs for me like the good ol' M16A2(?) with the 3 round burst. So far the only thing I've unlocked that's similar is the FAMAS, but it has no stopping power, I hate it.
Anyway, as for MW2... I figure I'm probably about halfway through the campaign... played a bit online, kill ratio is under 1.00, which sucks because I used to dominate COD4 matches. I guess it's been a long time. I for the life of me can't find a gun that performs for me like the good ol' M16A2(?) with the 3 round burst. So far the only thing I've unlocked that's similar is the FAMAS, but it has no stopping power, I hate it.
I hope that one day they will make a COD MW where we can jump into vehicles and control/fight from them. That is one reason I like Battlefield: Bad Company slightly better than the MW series.

You play WAW at all? There's a gun called the FAL that plays like the Gewehr-I'm pumping my early, dismal hit % with it.
Whoa, new quoteboxes(?) are melting my brain. Played single player and have fired the M16A4... as far as I can remember it's full auto, not three round burst.
I bought WaW when it went on sale for like $30 but never really played it. I think I only played the demo online, sadly. I do recall Gewehr from the original CoD, and I didn't like it. My CoD heritage is all about playing the large open United Offensive expansion maps and rocking open sight mosin nagant or kar98k. M16A2 was as close to that feel as I could get in CoD4... Right now I'm using the SCAR-H or whatever.
I suppose I'll go check out gamefaqs and see if someone has good comparison charts for both of the games, maybe FAMAS will do the trick and I just need to get my CoD legs back. Charting out the characters and vehicles for Mario Kart Wii did wonders for me online

Been playing for a week now. Have completed the Campaign, and a handful of the Spec-Ops missions. On the MP front, I'm currently at level 35, with a KDR of 1.19. It was a 1.26 a few days ago, but I had a series of shocking games and it plummeted to 1.15. Just glad it's on the way back up now.
Currently having a great time using the MG4 light machine gun, with a Holographic Sight, and FMJ (love the Bling perk). Add to that the Cold Blooded and Ninja perks, and it makes for a pretty formidable setup on Team Dethmatch or Domination.

Multiplayer is great but I am getting owned alot. So far I've got like 1 or 3 or so of the other accolades, and 19x "Most time spent looking at killcams" accolade
Man, they screwed up the level design for the last Spec Ops mission. You can really cheap that mission out on Veteran by just letting the Juggernauts come down to you.
The mission before that though, 10 Juggernauts with explosives only in the Favela? Now that's the fucking pain... you basically have to run in circles for 10 minutes.

Hrm, I was wrong about the M16A4 thank god! Picked one up off a corpse, and even though it was iron sights it was still by far the best gun I had fired in the game. Kind of funny that the M16A2 was like the default assault rifle in the last game and I have to wait until level 40 to get it. I think I retired from COD4 a few levels shy of maxing out (no prestige). Kind of sucks that I have to spend most of my time playing trying to get to my preferred gun. Maybe I'll branch out and go light machine gun or something for a few levels.
The AK-47 was my staple gun in CoD4. So, yeah, I know how it feels to have to spend all my time playing before getting the gun I want.

Hah... never play a game during a freaking system update. I lost Borderlands progress doing that.
