Modern Warfare2 General Thread

Finally got to play online last night. Different game, same suckage by me. Talk about getting "pwn'd." :(
Haha, I've left more than one game so far in shame after hearing "Who is this Captain Apollo (my gamertag) guy? He fucking sucks!"

I feel like I am a regular person in The Matrix battling Agent Smith, Morpheus and Neo.

Well I don't know what it is with me, I really love these online shooter games, but God I suck at them. If I run into somebody straight up, it's probably about 50/50, sometimes they get me, sometimes I get them. But most of time I spend a match getting killed from behind no matter how slow and careful I seem to go.

One match last night was 1 kill, 7 deaths. Another was 5 kills, 12 deaths. :( And that's pretty typical for me.

They've added this new "accolade" thing and more than once I've gotten the accolade of "spending the most time watching a kill cam". Apparently their definition of an accolade is different than what I understand it to be. Watching a lot of kill cams means you been been killed many times. Not something to be praising. :(

You guys should try Objective based games then where you do a lot to help your team even if you suck at the actually shooting.

Not sure it's the "actually shooting" part that I have trouble with. It's more about being tatical and having "eyes in the back of your head." I use the radar and everything I can but eventually I get whacked. I could just camp somewhere safe, but I don't consider that to be a very fun way to play, and afterall, it's about having fun. Like I said, in a straight up firefight, I'm not THAT bad. But tatically, I suck.

I'm still getting pounded on most games 'cause I don't know the maps that well(and if I never play on Wasteland again it will be too soon!) but I'm improving. Playing straight HC TDM makes for a steep learning curve, though.

I'm not great, but I have a >1.0 K/D ratio in deathmatch games usually now. It really is just a matter of getting to know the maps and the game types. They all have a sort of ebb and flow to them that once you get to know will make things easier.

If you're really having trouble getting jumped from behind, put a heartbeat sensor on your weapon and use the 'Cold-blooded' Perk. My sniper runs with that set-up and he never gets surprised. Except for the rare person using the 'Ninja' Perk.

Oh, and once you hit level 40 start using the M-16. It is still the best all around weapon in the game.

I wish I could record my MW2 games, I got some amazing kills, on one map i got 4 headshots off one sniper bullet

I haven't tried that yet, but I doubt it. In the first Modern Warfare you could only play system link with one person per X-box of course.

Just finished it on Veteran. WOW!
Gonna go back and play a game on normal now so I can actually see more of what was going on instead of hiding in cover and waiting to recuperate.

This is the easiest Call of Duty game to play on Veteran difficult. After getting through Modern Warfare with its clown closets and World at War with its grenade spam, this game feels like a walk in the park on Veteran.

The main reason I didn't go straight to veteran was because I remembered how insanely difficult it was in mw1. Back then I managed to get through most of it except one of the last missions where a helicopter picks you up, flies a scripted route and you are required to shoot at guys on rooftops who have set up makeshift AA using sandbags & rpgs. I must of had at least 50 attempts - always dying within the first few turns, long before the checkpoint. So this time around with mw2 I was expecting some similar situation on its hardest difficulty where I may reach a stalemate.

Is it strange at all that I actually like the Army Rangers' side of the campaign more than I like Task Force 141's?

I'd love to, but I don't have XBL Gold. Sorry!

I'm thinking of upgrading next year, though, after the holidays. Hmm, or maybe I'll just get someone to buy me a cheap subscription for Christmas... :shifty:
