Okay. My wife finally gave me the go ahead to work on some new models. I haven't done one in a while (I wasn't able to drive). I know everyone is going to say "Take it easy out of the gate," but I say a pox on you !

What I am looking for is accurizing kits and aztec templates for the ST IV Enterprise. I have checked out Federation Models and they have some good stuff, but I have hears of some delivery issues from some of the sellers. Any other suggestions?

Also, are there any lighting kits out there? I prefer using fiber optic (for the smaller lights) and LEDs (to prevent heat buildup) if possible. I can go to Radio Shack and get the LEDs and the controls for the clinking lights (not sure of the quality, but I plan on placing these, to the extent possible, in the base for easy replacement). I also am at a loss for interior lights on the the warp nacelles.

Any suggestions as to where I can go for these parts?

Does this include decals and additional parts for the observation deck and shuttle bay? I did a quick search and didn't see them. I did see aztec decals for the Polar Lights version, but not for the Ertl version.

Thanks for the recommendation. They do have a bunch of stuff from what I can see. It may take a bit of wading.

Thanks for the referrel. Good stuff there. Are the templates and the photon torpedo launch effect worth it (more worried about the photon torpedo effect than the aztec templates.

There is a LOT of good looking stuff here, but I am worried about quality. Is this stuff up to speed? The site also offers flasher kits for the navigational beacons. From what I can tell they are red and green. Standard on the TOS model, not so much on the refit (I have the refit - A model). Will this work on the AMT/Ertl model and will I have to change out the red/green navigational beacons to white? It isn't a problem to do so, I just want to know if I need additional LEDs to cover the change.

Anything else I am missing in order to make this a mdodel as accurate as the screen model (changes to the model itself that require chutting an LOTS of putty, etc.).

Don's stuff is great. I've seen it first hand and used it. I also have his TOS warp flasher system for the 22" Cutaway - great system but wiring it up is not for the beginner.

Is it designed only for the TOS version of the ship or can I use it for the refit? The reason I ask is that it appears to have red and green flashers and the refit, IIRC, only has white flashers for its navigational beacons (I think they also flash at a faster rate).

The TOS version with the round boards is designed for the 22" TOS cutaway kit built up as a non-cutaway, since the majority of the board is for the rotating bussard effect. If all you need are running lights flashing, he has a simpler board for that.
