MLB World Series 2018: Eh. Dodgers/Boston. Eh.

Yeah, Yelich is really good and it pisses me off that the Brewers got him for a box of baseballs. God damn it, Jeets.

Considering what I have to put up with from the NFL in Houston, the Astro's are a gift from the sports gods as far as I'm concerned.

Price's postseason troubles continue and the Yankees tie the series heading back to the Bronx.

I had expected the Indians to steal a game in Houston but it wasn't to be. The Rockies, I think, can pull one back at home but the Braves are done in my mind. They're overwhelmed by LA.

Sad to say, I think you're right about the Braves. Smoltz noted several times during both games that the Braves just don't have at the depth on their bench, especially in comparison to the Dodgers.

That said, I'm still rooting for a Braves/Indians World Series!

I am a Tigers fan (yes, I know, we sucked this year and our home uniforms now too), but I will pull for the Red Sox if it means the Yankees losing.

Braves had a crazy second inning with Buehler walking Newcomb with the bases loaded followed by a grand slam from Acuña, but in true Braves fashion, it's now a tied game in the sixth inning.

Well, the Braves managed to pull it off thanks to a Freddie Freeman home run and managed not to get swept, but not from a lack of trying. The Braves haven't faced a postseason game they haven't tried to blow. :(

Same here, despite my soft spot for the Rockies. If they can keep the pitching up, and Yelich doesn't wipe out, they can win it and there will be a hell of a party in Wisconsin.
I love the Rockies, but like the A's they were "happy to be here" not "only happy if we win."
Yelich carried my fantasy baseball team on his back, so I'm all for cheering for him. The Marlins should have never let him go, and I am convinced that Derek Jeter actively hates the team he controls.

Still have my fingers crossed for the Braves but I know it's a long shot.

Forget to mention that Acuña is now the youngest player to hit a grand slam in the postseason, besting Mantle...who, it turns out, Acuña hadn't heard of until the postgame interview. Kids these days!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the Braves or the Indians. Alas. The Braves have a great young team, so I'm sure we'll see them again in the postseason soon enough.

That said, I have a feeling it's going to be a Dodgers/Astros World Series rematch.

Sigh.

Still better than the Yankees anything. :p

I'm afraid, as a Red Sox fan, I must make a solemn declaration of YANKEES SUUUCCCCKKKK!

Not only a crushing win against their ace, one that forced them to tire out their bullpen when our starter lasted 7 innings.

So Sox now have two chances to win. One away game against a tired bullpen, and one home game with Sale. Feelin' pretty good about the divisional series.

Biggest loss in Yankees Postseason history? check

Cycle finished against a catcher pitching? just funny

Yup, doesn't mean anything for the next two games, but gotta like how they responded to the bad game in game 2. Gotta grab one more, and Sale is still there for game 5 if needed, but hopefully Porcello can pick it up so Sale is good for game 1 of next series. But the Yanks can hit, Red Sox bullpen is hit or miss at best, so they're not done yet, etc.

The way the playoffs get put together sucks. Gotta scrap divisions for more equal schedules, which then allows them to slot the playoffs better. 3rd and 4th best record in MLB shouldn't have had to play a 1 game play-in game, and then play the #1 record in MLB in the first round. Winner of that plays the #2 team in MLB. After all that is sorted out, the survivor gets to play someone 5-10 for the title. Seems kinda silly, but probably just because of how out of whack the AL vs. the NL was this year. As likely to be the Astros as the Red Sox, but either way has the feel of the 2004 playoffs: Epic ALCS between the best teams in the league, and then after that a couple games for funsies against the NL to say they completed the schedule.*

*Although to be fair, looked it up and the Cardinals won a LOT more games than i remembered that year. Not sure if they were that good and didn't show up for the World Series, rest of the NL was that bad, or Red Sox were just on such a high that they steamrolled them. If I remember correctly, the Sox were never even behind at any point in the series...

I went to sleep at 7-0.:brickwall:

It certainly didn't get better.

Still have a chance. I'm guessng CC gets the ball tonight. I can only think about the last time someone got blown out in the RS v Yanks matches...it turned out pretty well for the team that got stomped.

I'm also not a fan of the current "play-in" crap... Good lord, a 100 win team could have been left out of the play-offs.
